The object's kinetic barriers deflect projectile weaponry, as particle shields absorb the blows of more.
However, the heavy cannons would prove to be too powerful, and the first barrage would lower its shields.

In response, the object would rapidly accelerate upwards, and propel itself at extreme speeds away from the site, nearing an urban area.

Without much time to bring its shields back up, the object quickly succumbs to the attacks, but not before firing a retaliation blast of energy before exploding.

The remains of the object shower down, consisting of uninteresting alloy fragments, scorched organic material, and shards of an unidentified crystal.

The ship hit with the energy beam shrugs off the attack with its own kinetic shield. An impact reading similar to the one found on the planet is found on the moon, a squad of tanks is dispatched to engage it, along with air support being immediately ready to intercept.

Cleanup crews and medical teams are sent to the object now that the event is over to salvage anything and treat the two dead soldiers. Unfortunately not everyone makes it out alive from every operation.

The energy pulse from the planet-side object would send a encrypted and obscure message to the moon object. The pulse itself would cause on superficial damage to the fighters, but it would most likely harm or fry non-protected electrical systems.

The moon object would quickly un-burrow, blasting itself away from the moon's surface. Its shielding quickly engage, before furthering itself from the moon. All the while, energy builds up on one side of the object, preparing it for a slipspace jump.

As soon as the activity is registered, several squadrons converge on the unidentified object. With the data transmitted from the battle below, the squadrons pair up and begin blasting before it can even leave the moon's atmosphere. The cruisers in orbit cut in front of the object's trajectory and aim their HE turrets at it preparing to fire as soon as the fighters clear.

The orb's shields deflect attacks long enough for it to tear a slipspace rupture open as it enters.

A brief period of time exists where the portal is open before it shuts, perhaps a lucky fighter could enter if it had shields rated for slipspace.

As the empire rounds up the parts to research on, it would prove that nothing would be gained in the way of research. All that remains is the cold metal husk that was a platform for the AI's that are now destroyed when the units destroyed themselves like they are programmed to do. Only thing of gain from the units is the fact that they are made of metal and can be melted down for other parts.

The Saerid ships would remain in the sector and release another message.

OOC: Venom there was a cruiser in your way, the fighters were behind you and I killed the other probe with dramatically less firepower, there is no way that probe can operate on two shields like that, if you choose slipspace you lower your shields and I shoot it, if you choose shields you run into the broadside of a shielded cruiser, I'm utterly confused at how that little drone got so much power suddenly when 4 tanks took its shields down immediately and yet it suddenly had enough power to excavate itself and start flying toward an urban center, where are these things drawing that much power?.....

The Saerid sent out multiple communications channels out of the sector, likely to request aid if the republic empire does not comply. The few ships that remain have their weaponry and shielding activated to protect themselves should they need to. Hangars open and reveal the remaining THOR's that are now priming to be launched into space for another conflict.

As we have stated, they attacked a trading post near our sector and would like to have them handed over without further bloodshed. OOC: Venom how big is this thing? Because I was able to take it out with a few shots with tanks on the ground, and fighters in the air, this thing has to be larger than my fighters which are about as big as an F-22, a bit bigger, you need some major power plant in there to shrug off that many hits, because I hit that thing with 4 squads, each squad is 4 fighters, so I hit it with 16 fighters blasting it with missiles and cannon fire for as long as it takes to clear a moon, and that thing has to be large enough to break through all of that, then, assuming its shields were on max to shrug that off, how did it charge its drive to get away? But I'll compromise with you and let you get away, if you let me attach a tracking device that allows me to trace where it goes. I think thats a fair trade for the amount of firepower I'm hitting this thing with. I.e. you get your probe, I get to see where it runs off to, fair?

A transmission is sent out to the lead Saerid ship, all the codes of law from the Republic of Soter are sent to them.

Immediately all the ships surrounding the planet break orbit, and take up positions in groups around the planet, their weaponry and shielding is already prepared to fire.

The Admiral sits in his chair and sighs hoping the situation plays out peacefully.

OOC: Roleplaying on steam is kinda creepy, I'm not willing to sell that part of my soul yet, I'm still in really good shape, as soon as I get fat and immobile I'll be fine to RP on steam because I'll have given up on life, this is of course reasons I don't do it. But I'll be more than happy to be your steam friend. Also basically the point of the tracker is to know where it goes and who it belongs to, I'm on Gambit's friend's list

The units aboard the ship would take seconds to review the whole of the law books sent to them. They return a message to a few responses from out of the sector and then a response is given to the Republic after a few minutes of translating the language.

Weapons on the Saerid ships turn inactive as power is shifted from them to the engines and FTL drives for swift extraction should they need to.

The core members are faced with murder, pirating and marauding. We ask that they are released into League of Stars custody and their rights as one of your citizens is revoked. Then we may talk about a non-aggression pact.

The Admiral smiles at the cesation of hostilities. He proceeds to give the orders to the bridge crew, who relay it to the guards and soldiers on the planet. The named members of the crimes listed are taken and read their charges. Their citizenship is immediately revoked, and they are placed aboard a shuttle under heavy armed guard.

The Admiral takes the comm

The Saerid indicate which hangar to land in with flashing external lights. Units of various sizes and makes surround the upper tier of the hangar as well as the floor to ensure the pirates do not attempt to harm anything. They are all armed with large gauss rifles about three feet in length.

The shuttle lands as the fighters break off their escort. The loading ramp opens and eight fully armed Rangers in EVA suits walk out and form a perimeter, without aiming their weapons of course. Four more soldiers escorting all the prisoners come from behind. A soldier steps forward in front of the group with captain's bars on his chest. His weapon is on board the ship, and carries a pistol holstered on his hip. He stands in front of the group and waits for a Saerid to approach him.

Three units step forward. Standing at 15" feet tall, the commanding unit leads the way as two 10" units follow close behind him with multiple canisters of oxygen and oxygen masks for the prisoners. Nothing gives away the units rank, nor suggests any, besides the size of the platforms holding the AI.

The lead mechanical construct stands someways away from the captain but still close enough to be polite in most cultures the units have come across. It notices the bars against the chest of the people on board the Saerid ship and looks at each for some time to analyze the ranking system among the newly found empire. After this, the commanding unit wouldn't motion or say anything but stand there with eerie quietness. However, the units behind the commander would approach the prisoners with the canisters and masks.

Captain Piett of the Ranger squad looks up at the tall mechanical figure towering over him, he motions for his men to step aside and let the mechanical beings take the prisoners. The soldier extends his hand toward the machine.

After the captain and his crew leave the Saerid ship, the commander oversees the prisoners, who were led into an empty room on the ship save a few holding cells. Before being put into a cell the Saerid units take a blood sample of the pirates and shave the prisoners head, remove all clothing and tattoo the wrists of the pirate core members. These tattoos are based on race, drug addiction, gender, and age. Pirates with the same tattoos share the same cell but different tattoos are placed in other cells. Multiple Saerid units guard the cells but carry only melee type weapons.

As more ships enter the system carrying supplies and citizens for colonization escorted by four cruisers, the admiral orders his fleet to resume patrols.

Schools and cities are built and immediately inhabited by the overpopulated Citizens from Soter looking for a new home away from the eyes of the law. Penal sites are set up for quick labor, as the jails on Soter are just as overcrowded as the cities themselves. These colonists are only too ready to make homes, farms and businesses on a new world.

Thousands of new colonists touch down and begin hammering out lives for themselves. Cities seem to spring up over night. Mining operations begin fron the new prisoners. Even the moon is not spared as it can be mined for resources and colonists set upon it with hungry eyes.

Space Stations and Space docks begin construction almost immediately as the rough outlines of a space station come into view. The foundations for a space elevator are placed and construction commences.

The Military sets up several hard points, taking over what the pirates owned and expanding upon it. Fortifications and defensive structures are placed all over the planet including surface to air missiles as well as interplanetary missiles.
