From a rocky hillside near the pirate bunker, a team of three pirates move rock to rock. One carries a Sector 7 produced anti-material rifle.

They camouflage into the fauna and rocks as the find a position to overlook the bunker. The gun operator unpacks the rifle and sets it up, he loads a five round magazine of 20×105mm AP-HE rounds. One pirate uses a similar small arm outfitted to be a DMR. The last man uses a laser rangefinder to aid the AT weapon.

Inside the bunker, the engineers begin to build a makeshift weapon to defend their ground.

THOR's under the Saerid Directive's leadership don't let up on the bombardment. Any pirates that move are instantly fired upon, should the units find them. After a few minutes of the onslaught, some of the THOR's break off and approach the planet and breach the atmosphere. The units seem to lack all elements of surprise as the THOR's fly toward the planet, creating a deafening sound that can be heard from miles away. As they get near the camp, the THOR's do not fire, trying to conserve what ammo they have left from attacking the pirates in space. Instead, the units in the fighter class ships transmit the location, should they find it, back to the main fleet orbiting the planet.

In space the main Saerid fleet watches the wrecked pirate ship being fired upon relentlessly. The weaponry on the ships is reloaded by the units and begins to cool down from prolonged use in combat. The many units are almost idle on the station but the few that command on the command deck of the capital ship. Another message is sent out to the Zaedrax entailing the tyrannical units consensus. It seems evident that the Saerid are not willing to give up land without the odds of the deal being stacked in Saerid favor.

Another slot opens under the Harbinger, quite larger than the other ones. A metal object is launched, and flies down to the planet's surface. Upon impact, the object begins to burrow into the planet's surface, digging to a notable depth before automatons seal the large hole made by shoveling any dirt or material into it.

The exploratory team continues observing and plotting the terrain, sending small probes to plot the land quicker.

The automatons finish their scans, and a drop-ship quickly comes down to pick them up. The object placed underground remains covered by dirt, and would have appeared to be nothing more than a slab of metal to any outsiders.

All the while, the ZTN Harbinger quickly launches a small projectile at the planet's moon, and quickly seals itself up once more, the drop-ship entering the hangar. The vessel's slipspace drives begin to warm up, and a message is sent right before the vessel exits the system:

I am afraid that your race has not made the proper diplomatic strides to earn a location on our few planets. This venture will not have been in vain however, and the objects launched at the planet and its moon will not be removed by any of your forces. Consider it the cost for employing our services to eliminate the pirate forces in this system. Disregard them, and everything will be satisfactory,

Energy pulses from the ship's bow before one large pulse opens up a void in space, in which the massive vessel enters, disappearing from the sector.

The object that had burrowed into the planet's surface would be located close to a small farming village. If questioned, villagers would say they'd assumed it was a burial.

Long range scans on the object would yield nothing. However, close range scans by ground units would detect no life forms, energy signals, or movements. They would detect some organic material, but nothing more; perhaps the villagers' claims were true.

The object that had impacted the moon would leave a small crater before burrowing into it. After it reached a decent depth, it would begin to cover itself with any surrounding material or debris kicked up by its actions.

Scans would result in the same finds as the other object.

Though the Zaedrax believe they have hidden their objects well, THOR's returning from the planetside see the trails objects leave from venturing down to the planet and moon at such a high velocity. The units ignore the locations spotted for now and aim down at the pirate encampment. Beams from the hangar appear and rocket toward the pirate bunker. Some of the projectiles land on the camp and others land on the outskirts of the pirate base.

The scope on the anti-material rifle calibrates the distance on the THOR's moving in for an attack run. The shooter tenses his trigger finger. A little green light blinks when the IR tracking device gets a lock inside the scope.

The shooter squeezes the trigger, the rifle recoiling into his shoulder as a cloud of dust is blown back by sending a 20mm AP-HE round towards and most likely through the engine block of the leading THOR craft. The round's discharge thunders over the valley as the high velocity leaves a jet stream across the sky.

The bunker's detection array picks up the incoming threats before the sniper team does. Red alerts sounding across the board. An engineer begins to select targets on a holographic model of the skies above.

"Gun ready."

"Good, we'll wait for them to get a little closer before activating the CIWS."

After being shot the THOR rapidly descends to the planet. The THOR tries to equalize but it is a fruitless attempt. Crashing into the lush planet below, the THOR explodes into a fiery mess. Meanwhile the canisters reveal many units that seem prime for combat. Large gauss rifles are in the hands of the units, and, after taking a few moments to orient themselves, the units fire upon the pirates in the compound. The Saerid use the canisters and other barriers in the base as cover. Should the CIWS fire, the canisters would be shot down with ease depending on the skill of the operator.

Units that land outside of the compound successfully attempt to track down the sniper outside of the pirate encampment. Their sensors and thermal trackers prove useful as they trace the sniper shot to the sniper team with help from the THOR's circling above.

The hangars continue to fire beams of canisters fire down at the planet, more specifically at and around the pirate encampment. They send horde upon horde of units down toward the surface.

No pirate stands in the open, they lie in the trenches that surround the bunker complex. They peer out at the landing robots on the flat plane that the camp lies in, covered from the sun by a low camouflage net. The men check their rifles, and a couple machine gunners load a belt of ammunition into their firearms.

A PA system comes online, there is a familiar voice to the one from the Europe Station attack.

"LIGHT THEM FUCKERS UPPPP~!"

The area around the bunker is lit up with hard lead cast bullets and tracer rounds. The .50 caliber machine guns dug in at the bunker bite out steel chunks easily and are backed up by dozens of riflemen in the trenches. The overlapping fields of fire would decimate any standing infantry.

The AT sniper and spotter continue to take accurate shots aimed at eliminating the canisters before they can discharge their payloads. If his rounds hit, the target is pierced by the AP outer shell before the HE core detonates inside the target. The force of the air bending around the rounds as they pass can rip a man in two.

The sniper team's designated marksman uses his arm as a rest as he pops off .308 rounds with a semi-automatic rifle at the Saerid troops from behind a rock. He attempts to maintain a perimeter around their small cliff for as long as possible.

Inside the bunker, a radioman cranks a wheel. An antenna is raised out of a port. The radioman begins to type out an S.O.S. in Morse Code followed by their status.

Receiving and quickly decoding the morse code, three Intolerance Class Frigates jump in, scan the area, picking up threats everywhere else, identify the pirate positions and mark them.

The leader of the battle group, Rear Admiral William Ajax, immediately responds to the morse code with the following.

8 nuclear missiles are immediately fired at 8 points in space covering the planet in radiation, as well as a massive electromagnetic pulse as they explode simultaneously. The pulse sweeps over the planet and the surrounding space. The Intolerance's are hit by the wave, but due to their EMP hardened hull, are not disturbed. One minute later Captain Ajax sends the signal to the rest of the group. Moments later two Intrepid Class Frigates jump inside the atmosphere above the previously marked positions. While falling through the air the pump energy into spooling up their FTL drives. One proceeds to deploy gunships, drop pods, troop carriers and heavy troop carriers with tanks attached, while the other deploys a hornet's nest of fighters.

Within seconds hundreds of objects leave the ships and streak toward their targets. The entire deployment lasts roughly a minute, with half a mile to spare, the Intrepids FTL engages and they jump from the planet sending a shock wave of air displacement.

The Intrepid Frigates jump back into formation behind the Intolerance Frigates. One begins jettisoning fighters form its launch tubes while the other begins the process of screening for incoming missiles with its point defense lasers. The Intolerance Frigates use the shock and awe tactic to charge their MAC's and begin plotting trajectories for the other ships in the area.

Soldiers hit the ground on planet and begin shoring up the lines of the pirates. The tanks land and begin taking defensive positions while command posts are set up. Gunships run through blazing at any units out while moving to their defensive positions. One gunship in particular nears the pinned pirate sniper team, and begins strafing any enemies in the area.

One Star General Alfred McNally sets up a quick command center, and begins ordering the construction of artillery pieces. The Soter Defense Units begin setting up defensive positions while the Rangers move to the trenches and prepare for the assaults with the pirates.

As the planet is spread with the radiation the units continue to fight, even though they are being destroyed in a matter of seconds after touching down on the planet. The EMP wipes the surviving machine race out, leaving only mass clumps of platforms around the base. The THOR's attempt to leave the atmosphere but are rendered useless when their engines cut out and crash around the pirate encampment.

In space the ships are hit by the EMP but due to a small layer of protection, most units and equipment remain active. Lesser units aboard the ship fall and deactivate where they stand. The Saerid ships prepare for a FTL jump out of the sector but do not activate it yet, wanting to see what this newly found race would do and if they would communicate.

The pirates shred the frozen robots to pieces as the EMP hits, men lift themselves from the trenches and begin to loot the bodies for anything interesting. They walk through the carcasses and pump rounds through their metal skulls. The sniper team slowly gets up from their dug in position, managing to survive thanks to their saviors.

Out in space from the Saerid, the pirate fleet returns. They reappear in flashes of light, their FTL disengaging.


"Activate the frontal torpedo tubes. Alert the Firestorms to use their's for the engagement."

"Yes, Temujin."

"Looks like those ships from before are the only one's left. They look panicked, a prime time to attack! Gather targeting data and fire when ready."

"Yes Great Khan!"

Noticing the spikes in power from the Mechanical ships, Rear Admiral Ajax sends a message to the mechanized fleet in his own language, accompanied by a dictionary and alphabet.

Attention hostile enemy forces, you are to retreat from this sector, you will not invade this planet today, nor will you engage in further hostilities. If you wish to correspond on neutral ground at a later date you may send such a request from a single ship to this sector of space or any other sector we inhabit. You have an hour to comply with this otherwise you will be fired upon. This is your one and only warning.

One Star General McNally's forces continue their offensive, capturing any troops only disabled, and scouring the rest for any useful technology to reverse engineer. The General McNally issues orders to his soldiers that quarter is to be given to any troops who have surrendered.

Several squads of Rangers move toward the Pirate Command Post. Captain Fargo leads the squads as they converge peacefully on their target. Other soldiers at other parts of the battlefield assist the wounded Pirates and any civilians present.

Rear Admiral Ajax attempts to open dialogue with the most senior pirate in command.

The main fleet activates its FTL jump after the pirate fleet returns. It doesn't delay its course and doesn't fire at the ships present before regrouping at their sector. However, the secondary fleet remains near inactive far away from the space battle was. Many THOR's in space are left to fend for themselves as their main fleet leaves the sector. They fly near to the unknown empire but doesn't prove to be hostile as their weapons are nearly drained of ammunition from attacking the destroyed pirate ship and killing most of its crew.

Though the secondary fleet is dormant near the Azraelic Republic, its energy, being generated by the ship, is powering the shields and FTL capabilities. THOR's that have been sent out into space are recalled to the hangars. The fighter class ships land in an organized manner despite the situation. Destroyers there attempt to open communications with the empire that has newly arrived.

Ground forces do not have much on them other than the metal in their platforms. It seems just a humanoid body like structure made out of metal but not real other parts.The "heads" of the Saerid explode long before before the pirates finish them off, all data of what they had or what they were are destroyed. All "life" that the machine race had is gone.

The pirate forces on the planet are wanted criminals and have attacked a space station. Regardless what you think about criminals, they will be dealt with. This was not an invasion but rather a combined force to rid the universe of these pirates.

Rear Admiral Ajax stares at the return communication for a second, he immediately sends back a response.

The MAC coils begin to heat up as they charge up. The ships move to track the targets. The boarding parties are fully armed and ready to go. The fighters in space begin to make closer formations toward the waiting mechanical ships.

Meanwhile on the ground, General McNally attempts to meet with the Pirate commander. The soldiers strip all the components on the destroyed units, scavenging those required to fix the half destroyed ones and combine them with other half destroyed units.

OOC: well since everyones done posting I claim the planet, give the pirates amnesty make them citizens etc.

Based on their logs I go around dig up anything that looks funny based on impact logs, i.e. if anything buries itself since its fishy to not check that shit out, drop a few space stations, begin constructing giant MAC platforms, take everything I got, begin reverse engineering all the husks and wrecks for any parts I can use, i.e. their power cells. Send some back home create research labs and drop colonies to increase manpower and what not. Commandeer the pirate ships, take their tech get everything settled, repair anything damaged, get the wounded, build off the pirates get everything up to speed, defended etc.

So yeah rename planet Novus Spera and colonize the hell out of it

As soon as the hostilities cease, the cleanup operation begins. All the mechanized units are rounded up. A station is set up for scientists regarding all the technology gathered. The parts are scanned and analyzed as they come in. The scientists begin the reverse engineering process to take any technology to improve their empire.

More ground forces land, and begin the drawing up of settlements. The pirates are given amnesty and made citizens of the Republic of Soter. A space repair station is quickly set up from extra parts, and the pirate ships begin being repaired, refitted and repainted with Republic of Soter colors.

Scanning data is taken from the pirates to begin analyzing any impact sites so that they may be salvaged. Several sites are scouted out and anything found at those areas is dug up and taken to be salvaged or scanned.

More three more ships drop into the sector accompanied by the flagship, the Pride of Soter, jump into the system and begin defensive operations to be able to colonize the planet. Fighters launch and drop ships scour the planet

First Squad of Third Company engages the object on the planet. They are caught by surprise and suffer losses. Two soldiers are downed by the beams of energy, the rest of the squad takes cover. Due to their anti-radiation pills and their armor, the radiation has little effect on them. A radio call goes out, and four tanks approach the scene firing their heavy cannons at the object in an effort to penetrate its shields.

Air support is on scene and prepared to engage, a ship in orbit targets the coordinates from space as a precaution.

An area of 25 km is cleared of any non-combat forces.
