The Quintana Cartel are making headlines today with their most recent purchases.
The first would be Surna's most attended and well-known tavern, "The Crook and Horns". There has been few noted changes, such as the addition of Cartel mercenaries to guard the floor of the bar, as well as attempts at prettying up the aging structure.
In addition to this all, Cartel sources state that there will be a much wider array of exotic beverages and food available. But prices and bartenders have supposedly been kept the exact same.

The second acquisition by the Cartel is more of note, though. The old "Razel family mine", apparently sold off by Vorn Tyrr to the growing Cartel. Details about the purchase are sketchy, but there has been a known problem concerning goblins refusing to let the Heartlands Crafts Guild actually use the mine for its intended purpose.
After information about the Cartel's purchase of the mine, we tried to reach one of their leaders for a word. A spokesperson named "Vedran Kestrel" had this to say:

"Any and all goblins staining the mine and its surroundings with their presence are to leave the area immediately. They have until sundown tomorrow. After that, the Cartel take no responsibility for anything that happens to the vile monsters."

While the "treaty" would normally prevent most actions being taken against these goblins, the Cartel would technically not fall under the effects of this treaty. While much is uncertain at this point, this reporter is hoping that there will be a peaceful solution to the whole matter.
