| Aerian Economics:Surna-\-/-\-/-  -\-/-\-/- An Overview:-|- This post is to help serve as a base guideline for prices of goods as would be expected around the bounds of Surna; this is not supposed to be entirely restricting, this is to be an encyclopedia to help resolve and or prevent disputes. In times past, there have been numerous errors between members of the community regarding price, and should that ever arise, I want there to be a safeguard to help protect people from losing assets and or time spent.
So, in summation, this is not a rulebook to be followed to the letter. It's a guideline of prices, that may help people gauge their economic ability within the area surrounding Surna. -\-/-\-/-
Coinage:
-|- The Shilling: A Bismuth coin, treated so it doesn’t oxidize and remains an almost-white pink, engraved with a castle on the back side, and the face of one of Sanctimonia's ruling body on the other. This coin is the base of the Surnan Economy.
The Crown: A polished coin made of copper, short and perfectly rounded, engraved with the Sanctimonian crest on the back, and the image of a crown on the front. This coin equates to ten Shillings.
The Mitre: A Silver coin, possessing the lustrous quality of brass. On one side is emblazed the symbol of an elderly Concordic Priest, and the other displays the royal palace of New Imperia. This coin equates to fifty Shillings, or five Crowns.
The Noble: A coin of pure White Gold, engraved with an outline of Sanctimonia as it would appear on a map on one side, and the scales of justice on the other. This coin equates to one hundred shillings, or ten Crowns.
The Royale: A coin shining with the glow of pure Gold, it shows the sign of the pact on one side, with a king-like figure standing in front of an S, which stands for Santimonia. This coin equates to one hundred fifty Shillings, or fifteen Crowns, three Mitres, or one and a half Nobles.
The Sovereign: A coin gleaming and reflecting light with the beautiful sheen of pure Platinum. This coin beholds the symbol of the Concordic Knights on the one sight, while showing the sign of the Ardent Blade on the other. This hefty coin is the most valuable in Surnan currency to be allowed away from Sanctimonian controlled states. The Sovereign equals three-hundred Shillings, thirty Crowns, three Nobles, or two Royales.
The Benediction: A coin held almost entirely in the coffers of New Imperia and never let far from the hand of Sanctimonia are the Coins of Benediction. Made from the rare and powerful material known as Aerium, the coin depicts on one side the mighty Surnan Heroes with the blessings of the pact, and on the other side the battle of the gods in which The Pact united to destroy the evil of Sylornath. This coin is a piece of artwork more so than it is even currency, and even then, it is a mighty piece of monetary sustenance. The Benediction equals One-Thousand Shillings, One-Hundred Crowns, Ten Nobles, Six and Two-Thirds Royales, or even Three and One-Thirds of the mighty Sovereign. -\-/-\-/- Industry:-\-/- - Spoiler:
This is a rough system of basing prices based upon simple economics, Supply and Demand. Within this table I've tried to compile a wide listing of goods used during the time period and reflecting their rarity within the geographic region. Feel free to tell me what might be done to improve this, constructive criticism is always appreciated. The table follows a simple system: EX: Parchment:: Abundance: 5/10, Productivity: 5/10, Demand: 7/10, Trade: 4/10.There are a variety of ratios here, which each mean something in terms of economic value.
Abundance: SUPPLY, how much of this material is available in Surna? Having to import the item greatly lowers this.
Productivity: How hard is it to procure, maintain, transport, utilize, or perhaps work with this material?
Demand: How much do the Surnan peoples value this item? Whether it be a meager peasant, or the mercantile circles.

This is a rough system of basing prices based upon specific craft skills and services. Within this table I've tried to compile a wide listing of crafting professions used during the time period and reflecting their rarity within the geographic region. Feel free to tell me what might be done to improve this, constructive criticism is always appreciated.
The table follows a simple system:
EX: Masonry:: Need: 4/10, Education: 2/10, Overhead: 2/10, Effort: 4/10, Mastery: 4/10.
There are a variety of ratios here, which each mean something in terms of economic value.
Need: A big one here, how much is this NEEDED within Surna?
Education: Another big one, how much education do you need to run this trade? Not necessarily how much education you need to master it.
Overhead: How much does it cost the city and or the person to have this business? Initial costs such as real-estate can play a part in this, but it's mostly upkeep. The strenuousness of the effort can be applied here.
Effort: How difficult is the work you are doing?
Mastery: How much range is there in experience/education between an average worker and a Master? THIS is basically the education needed to master it. Prestige is usually somewhere between here and education.
Prestige: How respected is this position? Honestly, this can affect a lot of things about the business. An easy way to determine this is the amount of education needed.
