Biography:
    To fully understand Alexander, one must first understand Clan Narmetha. Though doubtlessly existing before, Clan Narmetha came into prominence around 200 years ago. Lead by a powerful matriarch who not only joined together the scattered people of her clan, but also brought other prominent Kazuth families into her fold, often by force. It is recorded that this Matriarch had unnatural longevity, some say she had dark dealings with Shar, others that she was too stubborn to die before she saw her goals achieved. The former theory holds some popularity, and if one investigates close enough, they will find a surprising number of Sharites within the Narmetha Clan.
   
    Over the years the Matriarch gave the Clan a direction, organization. They became an infamous group of thieves, and at times, assassins. Originally based out of the Old Kingdom of Talibar, they have since moved their headquarters to Haria, though they keep contacts in several countries. Around 100 years ago, the Matriarch disappeared, there was no body and no note, she was simply gone. In her absence a council of elders was elected to maintain the interests of the guild, and to this day the same ruling system is used.

    So, it is into this family that Alexander is born. The child of prominent clan members, his father was on the council of elders by the time Alex was twelve. From the time he was born, Alex was expected to continue the legacy of his father, a suave thief and romancer who had been across the world stealing treasures and the hearts of women. Unfortunately, it seemed not to be. While Alex passed all training presented to him acceptably, the thoughts of stealing the coin purse of a duke, or the gems of a countess never truly interested him. In most of his physically oriented classes he would slack off, doing only enough to get by. Yet, there were a few classes where he did shine. He absolutely absorbed any and all information given to him about his family history, or any history for that matter. Languages, writing, even the basics of magical study all came easily to him.

   While his father was disappointed that his son looked as though he would never measure up to his own greatness, he was not totally distraught. He realized the benefits of having a well read and learned son counted among the names of the Clan, so he sent Alex off to a nearby monastery, one of only a few open in Haria, while he worked on getting himself a more suitable heir.

   For the next several years Alex went between his home monastery and various others that would take him. He learned much from the monks, but the cloistered life never appealed to him. As his studies continued he learned more and more of the outside world, and of the ancient powers that once influenced it. From the Otherworld Event, to the Prophet, workings of Shar and others. As the years waned on, Alex decided he would venture out into the world and and continue his studies hands on. So, he narrowed his studies for two more years, learning the basics of self defense and the workings of magic, with an emphasis on enchanting and magic based upon the written word. When he finally felt he was ready, he packed his bags, thanked his teachers for their help throughout the years, and set off to discover the world, starting in a historically interesting area.

Alex has a good understanding of most major history involving Talibar, Occitan, Sanctimonia, the Kazuth, and the Narmetha clan. Has a fair knowledge of more remote history.
Thievery (hiding, pickpocketing, etc): [5-10]
While not the best of students, Alex did learn a fair bit from the classes back at his home, enough to make him a fair thief, if he wished to be.
Magic Theory [5-10]
Alex has a fair grasp on how magic works. The mechanics of it all fascinate him, and he wishes to continue his studies on the subject (note, this does not directly translate to magical skill, just a knowledge of how it works mechanically.)
    Self-Defense: [4/10]
Alex has studied some on self-defense with the monks, he will use his staff, dagger, or anything else he can grab to defend himself.
Religion [4/10]
He has a fair knowledge of various religions and deities, though he knows far less about the more exotic ones. His main to interests currently are Sela and Shar.
Enchanting [2/10]
While his current knowledge of the subject is minimal, he has expressed great interest in the art of enchanting, and would like to one day continue his studies and eventually learn how to actually perform it.
Wards [2/10]
He has also expressed great interested in the art of magical ward making, though his lack of practical magical knowledge limits this. In honesty, he wishes to find a method for a logical, algorithm based magic, though has so far been without luck.
Alchemy/Herbology [2/10]
Alex has learned a few things about teas, potions, and herbs during his stay in the monasteries. By no means an expert, he's learned a few practical uses for common herbs, including calming teas and focus boosters.

Wrote this when I was very tired, will probably update it with pictures, a themesong, and goals later, this will have to do for the moment.

I like the look of this character.

The forums are far from dead. I have been watching this post for awhile I kinda wanted to see some pictures before I judge this guy. I am sorta confused on the fact is he a magic using potion making thief or something? xD

Might take some time on a picture, probably just going to wait till my friend has time to draw him. He's basically a scholar, from a clan of thieves. So his main interest is knowledge and the gaining of it, but being a part of his clan came with some basic training in thievery. He actually can't do any real magic yet, but he is rather proficient in magical theory, that is, how magic works. Also, he can't really make any true magical potions, just basic teas and herb treatments, though he is very interested in learning more.

In all honesty, it seems like a fair and presentable character with reasonable traits and qualities, and if you ever feel like getting on, I look forward to seeing him in action.

Planning on adding a few more languages he knows once I learn what is appropriate, and possibly change his outfit. No other additions planned besides superficial ones (picture and song)
