The fabric of space ripples, until it is sundered by a hyperspace window opening up. From the portal emerges a single ship. It is roughly conical in shape, sports a smooth, metallic black armor plating, and flies towards the planet with its engines ablaze.

Another portal opens. And another. Eight more ships, each roughly 2 miles long, emerge from hyperspace, following the first.

Sattelites quickly pick up the disturbances. The Eight vessels are detected, and quickly are cross-matched with other known vessels.
Upon identification, warnings and signals are relayed back to the Tetrabune, and all cities.

The Evacuation of Bihbulba has begun.

The Zaedrax Tetrabune, and leaders from across Bihbulba are evacuated onto ships, which would immediately set for launch. The vessels would reach atmosphere, and immediately open slipspace portals to exit the system.

Larger vessels are prepared for civilians, and preparation for loading is taking place.

A dozen orbital stations would lock onto the vessels and lay down lines of inter-crossing particle beams, maximizing the amount of area hit. All the while, MAC stations begin to warm up their primary weapons and set firing solutions.

Ground-side short-range fighters, frigates, and destroyers are scrambled, and take off out of the atmosphere. Thousands of fighters and bombers approach the vessels, quickly laying down fire. The frigates and destroyers approach as well, smaller in size and lacking slipspace engines, they begin to fire railgun barrages at the eight vessels.

Automatons and soldiers flood the streets, armed and prepared to defend Bihbulba at all costs. A signal is sent via slipspace to the Azraelas fleet:

The ships, though surprisingly maneuverable, are simply too large to avoid being struck by the web of beams. Three of the leading vessels are hit. The particle beams glide across them, blasting off small chunks and leaving visible gashes, but they don't seem to cause significant damage.

The swarm of ships from the surface meets the approaching vessels. The hulls of more than half of the attacking fleet light up as they are bombarded with arms fire. One of the ships, badly damaged by the particle beams, is fired upon by a railgun. In a lucky hit, the shell punches through the gash in its armor and straight into the heart of the ship. A fireball erupts from the entry wound, and a cloud of dead tissue streams into space. The ship veers off course as its engines and thrusters cut out, and appears dead.

The remaining vessels shoot past it. Out of small, almost invisible holes, hundreds of projectiles are fired at the orbital stations and any ships within range. Those that hit would hit hard and burst open to release an inky black liquid that eats away at the metal. Those that miss would drift toward the planet's surface.

A massive presence can be detected warping in at a notable initial velocity, as the flagship of the entire Azraelic Republic, the mighty Leviathan Dreadnought, only of its kind in the republic, the Orion, leaps into the planet's atmosphere.

The guns are already fully manned by every naval officer aboard the vessel possible, the ship's velocity being slowed in orbital gravitation, as more power is devoted to the targeting systems and the main guns. Raising only the kinetic shielding recently received as a part of their participation in the PIS, they take aim at the mass as it stands in front of them; every man aboard the ship glaring down-range at the stuff which their very nightmares are born from.

After that transmission leaves the ship, and all but simple piloting, shielding, and life support are dropped from the ship's functions; all of the guns on the massive vessel show signs of life. Each heavy gun lighting up, grinning almost, into the face of its foe. The thick hulls shine with orange light as the guns flare into power, but none so much as the main weapon of the Azraelic ship.

The massive beam weapon shines like a small star, coalescing power, and within a few seconds, perhaps even through the void of space, one could hear the group of the Orion, every living thing on board, call the order. Fire!

The railguns sound off first, each firing off at the lesser vessels with tenacious bursts of organized fire, shortly before the true fire begins.

The swirling sphere of energy in the main cannon's barrel glows brighter and brighter, before imploding unto itself, and emerging in a massive beam outwards towards the mass. Any ships or vessels that may be in the way are only bonus, as this beam, and the largest railguns, threaten to hammer down upon the largest ships the mass has provided. Mjolnir-powered ammunition carries highly conductive voltage and amp-power into the ships as they fire.

The Amundi Capital ship, and two Amundish cruisers warp into the sector in a flash of light. They quickly assess the situation before routing all power to their engines and weapons, their shielding and other functions minimal. The Amundish 25cm cannons begin to fire on the smaller Mass ships in powerful volleys. The Amundish ships constantly move, very quickly, to avoid taking fire. Their small signatures and rapid movement make them harder to target than the bigger ships. The Amundish ships also open their hangars, swarms of small, fast moving fighters armed with 20mm autocannons begin to swarm the Mass, firing on potential weak points before suddenly darting away. The Amundish fighters are smaller and faster than the Zaedrax and Azraelis fighters, though they lack bombers.

One of the ships breaks through the line of defense platforms, its hull coated in small explosions. Bits and pieces of its hull are blasted off as it begins to fall towards the planet's surface. The huge ship roars through the upper atmosphere, quickly becoming a fireball.

The remaining seven ships bank hard, their hulls groaning as they bring themselves about to face their foes, old and new. As they near the "dead" ship, its energy levels spike, and plasma erupts from the hole in its side. Tethers of some sort shoot out of two Mass vessels, towing the wounded ship towards the Azraelas fleet. The giant laser hits one of the towing vessels. Though it is a glancing blow, it nonetheless knocks the ship off course and rips apart its armor on one side. The Amundi cruisers and fighters finish it off in a light show of explosive firepower. The surviving ship speeds up, carrying the half-destroyed vessel in tow as the other drifts away lifelessly.

The five unoccupied ships accelerate, getting alongside it in a protective formation and soaking up enemy fire. They answer with dense chunks of Mass flying at high velocity. Upon hitting an enemy ship, the projectiles burst into a corrosive black liquid that threatens to penetrate the hull and infest the living crew. One of the five continues to pick up speed, and appears to be on a collision course with the Amundi capital ship.

A large transparent bubble begins to form sixty kilometers away from the planet. It constantly expands until it explodes in a flash of bright light; radars would detect a massive FTL echo originating from the bubble's location. In the bubble's place lays twenty Imperial ships. The mighty Gustavus Adolphus has six Hurricane battlecruisers on each of its flanks, bringing the total of Hurricanes to twelve. Behind the first line of ships, seven Thorax cruisers follow behind. Both lines of ships have their weapons charged and weapons cycled.

The Hurricanes dispense thirty Rifters from their hangars; the small fighters form a battlewing and start towards the ship attempting to tow the damaged vessel. Fifteen fighters break off and attempt to sever the cables with the autocannons, while the other fifteen chase after the ship towing.

The rest of the ships turn their 725MM Howitzers on the ship heading towards the Amundi capital ship and fires a volley of 55 HE rounds flying towards it, hopefully to either destroy it or knock it off course. While the ships fire their Howitzers, they turn their autocannons towards the four other ships. Each of The Mass' ships are targeted by at least five Leonum ships, dividing the twenty ships evenly to the amount of Mass ships. The 106 autocannons let loose a three round volley of HE rounds towards their selected targets, letting out a furious storm of yellow streaks as the rounds hurtle towards the ships.

The Gustavus broadcasts a message to the friendly ships, "Never fear, the Leonum is here! Now my friends, let us demonstrate the might of the ISP."

Encrypted messages are sent to the Azraelas and Anumdi vessels to welcome and inform them of the current situation.

The larger ships are prepared, and large amounts of civilians are evacuated, exiting orbit and being escorted by military vessels.

All the while, Zaedrax buildings would hover, collapsing and remaining suspended a good distance above the planet's surface, but not nearly close enough to leave atmosphere.

Ground forces brace for the impact of the Mass vessels and units. Shuttles are loaded with automatons, and frigates remain in atmosphere to aid in cleansing.

Fighters redirect their course, using shipboard AI to swoop in proximity to the attacking vessels and use bolts of energy and plasma in an attempt to destroy incoming projectiles.

The Frigates and Destroyers note the successful hit on the vessel, and attempt to replicate this, firing their energy projectors in the web pattern once more, attempting to make more large caverns in the Mass vessels.

The Orbital stations would cross their energy projectors in attempts to also help reduce the impact of the projectiles, but nonetheless they are peppered heavily by the projectiles, Kinetic barriers flickering with each impact. Some projectiles miss their intended targets, impacting the planet's surface and landing in the rural and jungle majority of the terrain, ground side forces immediately prepared for combat.

Meanwhile, the five MAC stations' main weapons are ready to fire, and the commands are sent. 3 ton tungsten slugs would fly at near light-speed at the Mass vessels, aimed towards central mass (Pun intended).
Thrusters would attempt to negate the recoil, and the stations would be pushed slowly back to their previous locations as other rounds are loaded.

The Infinity Fleet
The current ships within the Infinity fleet are as follows:

A massive energy fluctuation is detected and the 3.5 mile long ZTN Infinity appears in the void of space above Bihbulba, the nine other ships in her fleet follow soon after, including her sister ships the Azure and Discovery.

The vessels' aqua-hued shields glow bright and the visible weapons aboard each vessel would glow.

The ZTN Infinity sends a message planet-side and to all ships within range:

"This is Supreme Ambassador Verunas Nossa, the Infinity has arrived. Harbinger will be here shortly, but the battle has just begun. Long live the Tetrabune."

The Rush, Incorruptible, Confederation, and Taranok move to reinforce the current defensive fleets. Their energy projectors weave beams of super-heated plasma inter-crossing the other vessel's fire as well.

The Fortitude and In Amber Clad warm up their MAC's as they begin to align themselves in the correct position to do so.

Vanguard would unload it's barrage of PDW's at the Mass' projectiles and pepper their vessels with it. Her railguns also fire a minute barrage of metal at the vessels before preparing to cool off and reload.

The Infinity, Discovery, and Azure prep their enhanced MAC's, and their railguns blast a minute barrage of slugs as well. In addition, high-intensity energy projectors from each vessel concentrate on individual Mass vessels, not crossing but focusing their fire.

All vessels' hangars open to reveal a total of five squadrons of fighters, two squadrons of bombers, which would act the same way the defense fleet does.

A fleet of Moira ships appear in the distance. The support ships open the doors on both the bottom on top, revealing their weaponry. The carriers are ready on either side. They do a scan on the ships and send the information to the H.Q. ship. On seeing this, the screen shows the Head's eyes widen "How...how is that possible...". He studies the scan for a few more minutes before sending an order to load plasma, H.E. and laser weaponry.

Saerid Directive warps in two ships on the flank of the Mass. Power seems to be at the FTL jumps and the shields, and the machine race appears to be watching quite a distance away from the fighting and certainly out of range at attack.

The Amundi Capital ship, Hughis Aerlis, attempts to maneuver out of the path of the incoming Mass ship while firing on it. The two Amundish cruisers also re-direct their fire onto the Mass ship closing in on their Capital ship. Amundish fighters continue to harass all the Mass ships though.

The Azraelic ship works on reloading their weaponry, and are forced to sacrifice power from their smaller guns, which were shooting at non-aggroed vessels descending unto the planet, and now channellling it to maintaining shields as they have drawn the mass attention properly, and have come upon more allies.

The Azraelic ship powers its shields to the best of their abilities, alongside the Hauberk system, working to eject mass infected material out into space, whilst hastily repairing the ship as the mass tries to eat its way through the kinetic shielded metal about the ship.

The ship works quickly, preparing to fire once again in heavy succession upon the large ships, as they request that the Typhon prepared for thsi operation stand ready to head down into the planet's orbit, and the surface thereof, when situation best suits.

The MACs experience difficulty tracking the fast-moving Mass ships, and all but two miss outright. A projectile impacts with the force of a nuclear bomb, plowing straight through a ship, disabling it and cracking off huge pieces that sail every which way. The second barely grazes a ship, but still digs a canyon in its armor. The plasma beams and other ZTN weaponry blow off bits of armor here and there, gradually whittling away the structural integrity of the vessels.

The Mass fleet emits a powerful psychic signal, imperceptible to most organisms. Those with psychic senses might hear it echoing through space.


A hyperspace window opens behind the Infinity. Out of it emerges another Mass ship, engines at full power, attempting to ram the ship's aft. Eight of its allies suddenly appear out of their own portals, shooting at civilian transports, nearby orbital stations, and ZTN and Leonum ships, concentrating fire on the engines and maneuvering thrusters. With a focused psychic field, the shields of several of these targets are disrupted, every layer. The Mass vessels stay in low orbit as they curve around the planet, forcing their opponents to risk hitting the infrastructure below.

Meanwhile, the tether is cut by the weapons of the Imperii Leonum, but by then the dead ship has built up enough speed to drift on its own towards the Azraelas dreadnought. The ship towing it stays closeby, and fires another tether just in case. Its hull is pelted by weapons fire, but the thick, durable armor seems nigh impervious. The HE rounds of the Leonum detonate with tremendous force, but cause only minor damage to the Mass ships. Small splinters of armor break off and fly in all directions.

The Amundi vessels have more success, as their guns find a weak spot in the towing vessel and cause further destruction. This ship appears to be badly damaged and is venting material into space. Worse still, the ships around it break formation, leaving it unprotected. They quickly spread out and start shooting at the Leonum's ships. Both them and the wave of reinforcements are attacking from two different angles, concentrating on the larger ships, primarily the capital ship. The cruisers in the rear would likely get caught in the crossfire.

The combination of Leonum and Amundi weapons fire and the maneuvering of the capital ship causes the would-be ram to fail a direct hit. That said, the ship overwhelms the shields and scrapes along the hull. It would likely deal substantial damage to the outer plating causing a loss of pressure across numerous decks. The sheer force of the hit might also cause casualties and damage fragile systems.

The dead ship in tow begins to crack apart, an intense glow emanating from within. Its fusion core, lacking proper containment, goes critical and explodes in a miniature nova near the Leviathan Dreadnought.

The shock wave itself is tremendously powerful and carries with it deadly radiation, but it quickly loses coherence and thus affects only those ships closest to the epicenter. Over a much larger radius, there is an electromagnetic pulse that disables any unprotected electronics. The towing vessel, dead ship, and the disabled Mass vessel are caught in the blast and vaporized.

The huge number of fighters and ships, debris, and stray weapons fire (including that of the MACs) makes navigation a living hell. It is almost inevitable to collide with a stray round, missile, chunk of debris, or even another ship. The pieces of Mass that manage to contact a ship will attempt to latch on and bore inside. The debris field forming around Bihbulba is quickly becoming a deathtrap.

The civilian vessels sustain more damage than they can handle, and burn back down into the planet's atmosphere, leaving thousands dead per ship. Their military escorts fire beams of energy at the attacking Mass vessels in retaliation. Regardless, others continue their evacuation attempts, some getting into slipspace before they can be shot, while more prepare for boarding.

Other civilians rush for shelters, less willing to abandon their home-planet.

Any debris or projectiles of Mass origin would be surrounded by atmospheric frigates, who fire energy projectors at and around the sites, scorching the land. Ground forces move in, and use flamethrowers on any remaining material.

The defensive fleet's ships encounter a momentary loss of power due to the EMP causing no means of navigation and allowing a few of the frigates and vessels of the fleet to suffer fatal damage from debris and fire.

The ships that recover push on.

Any signs or indications of damage such as caverns and missing chunks would be fired upon by Zaedrax bombers and fighter escorts.

Frigates would begin to open slipspace portals around large chunks of debris, sending them away from the conflict zone,

Destroyers halt their energy projections, and fire their MAC's at any weak points present on the Mass vessels.

The Orbital stations suffer the same fate due to the EMP, three of them being impacted by fire and debris, would detonate, only further spreading debris.

The remaining Orbital stations facing the original fleet continue their fire while the ones facing the new vessels unleash their weapons as will. The vessels facing the new fleet would have their kinetic barriers disrupted, allowing projectiles to hit the secondary particle shielded layers. This causes a heavier drain on the stations, but they still retain enough energy to maintain their defense and weapons.

The MAC stations are not as close to the debris as the other vessels and stations, but the blip does cause some tracking problems which they recover from before firing.

Two MAC stations remain facing the original Mass fleet, and fire two more 3 ton slugs at the remaining Mass vessels. The Three other stations would begin to orient themselves towards the new vessels while preparing to fire their MAC's.

The Infinity Fleet
The current ships within the Infinity fleet are as follows:

All the vessels of the Infinity fleet and defense fleet are hit by the EMP. A brief blip in systems allow for debris and other projectiles to hit some of the vessels, further weakening their integrity.

The ZTN Rush succumbs to its attacks, with both the EMP and debris weakening the vessel to the point of being disabled. It drifts above the planet, the crew taking the time to look at their homeworld that they had dedicated their lives to defend. With their last bit of energy, they set their course to impact on of the Mass vessels, the smaller corvette's fusion reactor not getting the sufficient care to contain it, it doesn't have much time left.

The ZTN Confederation suffers a similar fate, but is not given the liberty of a final glance at Bihbulba, or any last second readjustments. The ship is torn in half by high speed debris, and the fire from Mass vessels punch holes through the remaining parts of the ship. A few escape pod would be launched, but the debris field would make their navigation near impossible, and they simply drift in space.

The Incorruptible and Taranok continue firing at the original fleet, aiming for any weakened vessels, and any weakened areas upon said vessels.

The Fortitude and In Amber Clad's MAC's are prepared to fire, and each fire a two-ton slug at near light speed at the original fleet, AI and thrusters guiding the vessels shots to impact any damaged sections.

Vanguard would fire energy projectors again at the fleet, PDW's halting their assault as the ship's railguns light up and begin to fire.

The Infinity lights up with alarms. What energy that would be spent on firing its main weapons is now redirected to emitters on its hull. The Infinity is enveloped in a layer of energy before it expands outwards into a bubble shape. It would then flicker briefly before resembling the effect of smog on a hot day. Where the Infinity once was is now a rippling bubble of energy, appearing completely devoid of light or energy. Any projectiles, energy, or vessels that would impact the Infinity would simple phase through the bubble, facing no ill effects. From within their anomaly, the Infinity would turn itself around to face the new fleet, but it remains within its bubble. Its weapons prime and it is prepared to unload a barrage of railgun, energy, and MAC fire.

The Azure and Discovery turn to face their new attackers, their MAC's requiring more time to calibrate and track now. In the meantime, they fire a minute long barrage of slugs from their railguns, while powerful energy projectors sweep at the new vessels.

Offensive Fleet

The Current Ships within the Offensive Fleet are as follows:

Receiving the current feed of what is going on in the Bihbulba system, some of the Offensive Fleet warp in behind the new Mass vessels and behind the current conflict. The five mile long battleship, Harbinger is the flag-ship of the fleet, its enhanced MAC's almost ready to fire. AI aboard the vessel begin advanced tracking procedures, and the hangars launch squadrons of bombers and fighters. on intercept courses with the vessels terrorizing the civilian vessels. Two massive side-mounted devices begin spinning slowly but surely, until they start sparking with bolts of energy. From the epicenter of these devices, beams of energy are fired in concentrated yet sweeping motions at the Mass vessels. Front-facing and side-facing railguns let out a barrage of slugs, aiming for the newly emerged vessel and its allies.

The ZTN Adajn, Prism, and Justice follow the launched squadrons, their energy projectors supplementing the fire sent by said squadrons. AI aboard calculate each shot perfectly, avoiding to fire if ground-side casualties are guaranteed. Their weapons would be fired at the rear if the Mass vessels, targeting whatever fires the jets of energy that propel them.

The ZTN Vigilance and Ravager's advanced MAC's are prepped for fire, and each vessel lets out two one ton tungsten slugs from its cannons, AI keeping the projectiles on target for the vessel near the Infinity.

The ZTN Knight and Oculus's fully automated systems allow for the unparalleled maneuverability and accuracy of the battle-cruisers, as the vessels run side by side with the Mass vessels on a curved orbit, firing port and starboard energy projectors in long patterns along the vessels. All the while, railguns pepper the sights where the energy projections impact.

A nearby scouting vessel had been observing the battle and directly above the conflict, scanners would pick up a number of energy readings building up. A number of blue clouds of energy appear and glow brighter to the point of exploding in a brilliant flash, a number of ships appears in their places...

The Templar flagship 'Prayer of Atonement' followed by three smaller cruisers and four destroyer frigates immediately powering up after the hyperspace travel, concentrating power influx on getting their rail-guns and laser weaponry online first. Lead by Commander Ezekiel, the ships are facing directly down toward the secondary Mass fleet, positioned like this so as to not be at risk of taking hits from the Zaedrax MAC stations.

Commander Ezekiel opens a hail to the Zaedrax ships, "I apologize for our late arrival, rest assured we shall rain down our wrath upon this abomination." and with that sends an attack order to the Templar force followed by a message, "I want these organisms wiped from the face of the universe, do not leave so much as a single chunk of this filth left alive." to which every ship would start focusing on a single Mass craft at a time, making sure the one they're currently firing on is mostly annihilated before moving on to another, however this would take a short while as their weapons power up, their shields still weakened.

Has little time to act in the wake of their second assault, having a short time into the heavy fire supplied by their onslaught, detecting the oncoming vessel start to destabilize. Using what time they are allotted after the firing of their primary weapon systems, they devote all powers from the guns now unto their shields, and a universal order is given; Hold on to something!

Within a few moments of the shields being put to their fullest, and the crew given warning, a massive surge of power collides with the ship due to the eruption of the ship, and going minor-supernova. The crew is rocked, and many are shaken, a good few slightly injured, and some actually rocked to the point of being neutralized for continued efforts in the fight. Still having enough staff to well man the Orion, the Azraelic Navy does not fret, however, several pieces of mass infected Shrapnel have been embedded in the ship, and the Hauberk system works non-stop to remove and repair these issues, as the ship drifts backwards and out of full position.

The Captain of the vessel puts a primary focus on removing the Mass-affected material from the ship, all the while, he orders his crew of pilots to maneuver the ship back into position, keeping the shields raised until they are back in fighting position.

Hearing of the destruction of various vessels finding difficulty leaving the planet's surface, the Captain gives his orders. The four available Typhon craft that are able to enter this system, and the fray-thereof, are to do so immediately, maneuver swiftly to the planet, deploy troops for a rushed extraction of citizens, and attempt to hold a drop zone for further extraction. The crew of these Typhons are to consist of men whose deaths will not effect their legacy; for this could very easily be a suicide mission, but forever will they exist in honor and bravery in affect across multiple star systems. These men steel themselves for battle, Phalanx, Reavers, and some GEARs alike. They are ready to jump into hell with their heads held high, and their weapons raised.

The Hughis Aerlis is rocked hard when it's struck by the Mass ship. In the collision, several crewmen near the impact zone die from being exposed to the vaccum of space. Computers rapidly detect the ship's compromised hull integrity and blast doors slam shut around the affected area, sealing off the damage from the rest of the ship to prevent further crew injury. Captain Hareng notices the Mass sticking to the ship and quickly orders that the heat from the fusion generator be vented onto the affected area. Sure enough, the Hughis Aerlis begins rapidly venting the heat from the generator onto the damaged parts of the hull that could have Mass on them. The Hughis Aerlis then uses the momentum of being rammed to help push itself away from the Mass ship. After the two ships lose contact, the Cruisers would open fire again, firing their 25cm cannons in volleys at the Mass ship. The Hughis Aerlis would focus on repairing the damage and controlling the spread of the Mass on it's own hull.

Unfortunately, the electromagnetic energy hits all the Amundish ships and suddenly fries most of the computers and systems in the Amundish ships. Emergency power supplies kick in as the fusion generators are hurriedly looked after by Amundish engineers and mechanics.

Meanwhile, the Amundish fighters would begin to shoot large pieces of debris that head towards allied ships and the planet, in hopes of slowing the spread of the Mass to prevent it from engulfing other ships. When hit by the EM energy, most would be disabled, the few that aren't disabled work to protect the disabled ones until they can get themselves working again. Most Amundish fighters hook tow-lines onto their allies and tow them back towards the hangars of their respective ships.

Amundish ships are reduced to necessary functions after the EMP, life support mainly. Engineers and Mechanics rush around their ships, repairing computer systems, replacing components. Inside the generator rooms, the engineers and mechanics work hard to get their power source operational once more, and to prevent any deadly explosions.

An object leaps from hyperspace, gliding at high speed in the dark space. It vanishes from sensor data as it drifts parallel to the battle scenes. Special pads on the edges of the vessel shimmer and reflect some light momentarily on the side of the vessel as it scans the planet and forces around it. Whatever it is is clearly watching and taking in information about the ongoing battle, it may be tapping the chaotic communications for information as well.
