New type of application: Tech Apps

Alright, so this is a bit of an odd thing, but, with technology rising to reach a level of power comparable to magic and magic items, the simple knowledge of how to make something gives someone the power to turn mundane items into useful tools, possibly even weapons. Furthermore, there will likely be characters emerging that may want to stretch the tech limit with their own research, and at the moment, we have no official way of regulating that.

So, Tech apps will be just like the other applications, except they will be regarding a new form of technology. The section will stress a few key IC and OOC points on the tech in question. Here's what I've come up with so far. This is totally subject to revision and not final at all.

IC:

• What is it?
  
• What will it be used for?
  
• Where did the idea come from, what was the inspiration?
  
• If the end result is far from the inspiration, what lead to the evolution of the original concept into the new one?
  
• What were the steps of its development?
  
• Development time and cost? If it's still incomplete, when do you expect it to be completed?
  
• Are there design flaws?
  
• Who will have ownership, and will the knowledge be publicly available to use or replicate?

OOC:

• Why do you think you should have this technology?
  
• What do you intend to do with this technology?
  
• Pros?
  
• Cons?

And getting tech approved will require the votes of 3 community members, as well as 3 administrators, since it is significantly more influential than an item or ability.

Excluding the technology megathread is finished, all new tech will be subjected to this procedure. Anything approved here will be added to the technology megathread to account for current existing technology. Thoughts?

We could handle this with equipment apps. And only Bepem is developing any tech atm. I don't think it's necessary to do all this just for one guy.
