"Lauft! Weil der Meister uns gesandt verkünden wir den Untergang!"
Kopra Sinason - Character Application Thief3_01_zpse3b3065e

Age: 29
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Birthplace: New Imperia, Sanctimonia
Deity: Nazu
Guild: The Wargs
Guild Rank: Rogue Sage
Guild Alias: Rego-Bal

Biography: Kopra, as a young child, was often regarded as just another mouth to feed by his own father. Kopra was born in the slums of New Imperia to his now single father, who continued to despise his recently deceased wife. Kopra often overheard his father mumbling about her as, "A deserter, who left me with a boy to feed and a business to run." Kopra's father owned and worked in a slummed down, shabby tavern known as, "The Blue Flame." Kopra was often conscripted into working with his father to maintain and clean the dilapidated tavern, albeit there not being an excess of customers to visit, Kopra's father believed in being professional.

As any young child, Kopra had dreams and aspirations, of which were often crushed throughout his years living in the slums. After Kopra toiled in The Blue Flame he returned back to his own little world, letting his imagination run wild as he wandered the streets. Often times he would hang around the other ghetto kids, who would gather around and begin making up stories to entertain themselves. Kopra was often regarded as one of the better story tellers of the small band of friends and was usually put in charge in keeping and adding on to the lore that they constantly made up. Kopra, although one of the most popular of the band, was the one who was kept away from them the most. He often said to the group before disappearing for a day or two, "My father promises me a future if I keep to my work, and I will be damned if I am to give up a future."

As Kopra entered his teenage days, The Blue Flame became a local hot spot, mostly due to Kopra's ability to create mixtures of spices and herbs that often appealed to the masses of the run down slum area. Over time, The Blue Flame made repairs to its infrastructure and began to improve in terms of service. Kopra's father, although accumulating a decent profit, still resented his son as an attention seeker and popularity thief. After a while, his father gathered the savings from The Blue Flame and used it to buy titles within a criminal organisation, essentially giving him a higher status among the criminals who owned and ran the ghetto.

Kopra, who time and time again, had his life turned upside down in a harsh and chaotic world, felt once again, betrayed by his own father. When Kopra confronted him about it, his father wrote it off as, "A way to secure our position as respectable people; as professionals among those in the rudimentary place that we base ourselves in. It was my money, and I do with it as I please." Frustrated, angry, and overall betrayed, Kopra began his own own future. He did not want to place trust in people, he did not want a future that was "promised", he wanted to decide his own fate. Before Kopra could be free to choose his own destiny, he had to secure a way of beginning his new life.

Friends were about the only asset left that Kopra could use to his own advantage. The old time band of friends, of which had survived since childhood, would be the only means of escape for the now fifteen year old Kopra. Over the next few months, he and his friends would learn the way of the streets, the ability to conform with the chaotic style of city life, and most important of all, the way of gathering information. Together, they formed a band of thieves and cut purses, similar to those that they heard and made stories about. After all he had been through, Kopra accepted the way of chaos into his heart and gave his dues to Nazu, the one who gave him the path that no one else could see; his own.

Kopra and his band of thieves had to start small, as any street gang had to. There was always competition, and the people were always paranoid of their whereabouts and who they stood and spoke with. If there was good thing that Kopra's father had taught to him, it was that you needed to seem professional, because it made you respectable. If there was one mediocre thing that his father taught Kopra, it was the herbs and spices and what they did when combined while he worked inside of the kitchen. Taverns, since Kopra's childhood, were his natural habitat. He could blend with the crowd, throw on a smile, and seem to look like he was having fun while he was adding in small potions and mixtures to someone's drink or food to make them drowsy and confused while he stole their coin purses. This was his his specialty, the potions were his kingdom, and herbs and spices were his minions. Over time, he learned more advanced ways and he studied the mixtures, sometimes stealing directly from potion shops to learn more about what he was doing. This was his domain, the ability to blend and sneak, while distributing the various potions and poisons he made.

Over time, about six years of working the streets, the band began working together on big time jobs; they began to earn a reputation. Some called them mercenaries for hire, sent by the rich to gain even more wealth from the poor; others said that they were a sect of The Wargs, those who were sent to draw political attention to the slums of the massive city, of which reasons were unknown. To the small band of friends, who only wanted a way to survive and make their own lives better, they enjoyed the stories people made up about them. Some of the friends even reported that they heard children speaking of them as heroes, those who had escaped the life of the ghetto. They would smile and continue their day, planning their way to the next house.

In time, as all reputation does, they had an audience. Those who wished to be like the band of thieves, and those who wanted to destroy them. The criminal organisation that Kopra's father had a title in became interested in the band, but in the way that they wanted the group dead. Kopra and his friends had been inadvertently disrupting the other criminal's workings, and had been stealing money straight from their storerooms. They learned, and quickly too, that attention was not always the best way to go about when you are stealing straight from a major player who owned "turf".

Soon enough, hits were put out for the thieves and cut purses, and jobs became harder for Kopra. Everywhere they attempted to perform a heist, assassins and bashers were there. The rogues, the ones who were supposed to blend in with the shadows and move unseen, had now become hunted. Instead of money and valuables, information became the name of the game. To end a contract, you must end the contract giver, and finding a contract giver is usually hard work. They began to target warehouses, places where the tangled wires of the organisation could slowly be undone.

Essentially, it was a fool-proof plan. Of course, with all fool proof plans, it wasn't that hard to figure out and plan to counter it. After the small band's campaign to unravel the contract giver's name and whereabouts, they were lead to a two story tavern close to the southwest corner of the ghetto. The group, tired and weary of being hunted by multiple assassins and enforcers, began their planning to infiltrate and end the cursed game of cat and mouse.

Kopra, as one of the most advanced sneak thieves of the group, was elected to go and scout out and find an accessible way into the tavern. As he neared his destination, the streets and alley ways started to look familiar, ways in which he did not need the map that he had memorized in his mind, but he could move unseen through the crowd based purely on muscle memory. It was mid-day, easily the busiest hour of the day, but among the chaos and disorder of the crowded city streets, he found a certain type of clarity and he moved. It did not take long for him to reach his destination, because somewhere along the way, in his subconscious, he knew where he was going. He remember the old intersection that he always lead him to his place of employment for such a long time, The Blue Flame.

From there, figuring out a way inside was easy. How could you not remember the ways, the ins and outs, of your place of work for nearly eleven years? The plan, though simple, was immensely detailed for such a task. They used the tactic called, "Preparing the pig," where they would lure out the target into an easily accessible, yet secured location, and would silently "shine" the target. They had never gotten the name of the criminal boss, he was only refereed to as, "Opra." It didn't matter really, the sneak thieves and pick-pockets and learned the ways of identifying the wealthy, and it was no doubt that this man was wealthy.

The plan was going as it was supposed to, as it should have. This, as I must reinforce, was not an incredibly complex plan. Two of the thieves, both armed with throwing knives and small daggers were stationed on the ground floor, where the drunkards and the belligerent drunks loudly made merry. The rest of the group, including Kopra, were stationed outside of the tavern along rooftops and alleyways. One of the thieves inside of the tavern were to catch the eye of the enforcers the boss had undoubtedly surrounded himself with and were to lure them away, while the other was to position the boss in such a manner that he would be lead upstairs to his office, where the rest of the thieves would ambush him.

As stated above, the plan was going smoothly. The enforcers were leaving, following the very obvious thief away from the criminal boss, which was being lead back up to his office by the second thief, disguised as a wealthy investor. Kopra was eager, not only to be done with the wretched hiding and waiting that came with ambushes, but with the mystery that surrounded The Blue Flame. It was indeed his old tavern, just as he had remembered it, but the lights were brighter and more people were visiting it. The fate of his father was still unknown to Kopra, as he had severed all contact and had refused to acknowledge the existence of his old and often disagreeable dad.

The thief and Opra sat in his office, which looked as professional as a criminal mastermind could get in the dirty and often times bloody streets of the slums. Opra's desk was facing away from the window and towards the door, making it seem as if he was a simple business man. As many before had, do not make this mistake, this man was no simple business man. He had the face of a no-nonsense butcher, who if you were to miss a glance or a twitch in his finger, you would be on the border of life and death. The disguised thief glanced outside the window and coughed into his fist, alerting the rest of the group that this was the time to act.

Systematically moving towards the tavern, the anxious group gripped an assortment of weapons tightly, most carried daggers and knifes, while Kopra held onto his heavy rapier and his short bow, an unusual arsenal for someone who was to keep his weapons as hidden as his very thoughts. They edged closer towards their target, the very end of their ordeal that had hampered their work as thieves. Kopra was the first to enter in the tavern, keeping his hood up and over his head as he scanned the room for any remaining bouncers that were left in the room. Apparently they were preoccupied with a couple of belligerent drunks that had began arguing who's drink was theirs. Kopra made his move, silently walking his way up the stairs and towards the office.

The two other thieves made kept on the ground floor, keeping the stairway secure so that Kopra and the other thief could finish the job without any disturbances. Kopra kept his ear close to the door, awaiting the moment to enter. After a brief pause in the discussion between Opra and the impostor investor, Kopra took the moment to draw his rapier and enter the room. Of course, as you may have guessed, and it wasn't a surprise to Kopra either, in the seat of Opra was his very own father. (// On an OOC note, I know this is like, cliche as fuck, but I have to say, it serves its purpose.) "Opra" sat there, a smug smile upon his face, which puzzled both Kopra and the impostor investor.

Falsified information wasn't that hard to make. Planting it throughout storerooms and creating codes to the actual information was just a matter of getting the code out but keeping it confined. "Opra" had won, he had lured them into a trap that had them all in a tavern that could easily be encircled. Yelling could be heard from downstairs and doors were being banged open in the hallway leading to the office. The sound of fighting was sudden downstairs, the three other thieves trying to defend themselves on two fronts. Drunks began running for their lives, trying to escape the escalating fight in the common room. The thief impersonating the investor stood from his chair and nodded to Kopra, drawing his dagger and throwing knife, moving into the hallway to help the others downstairs. Kopra looked at his father, approaching with the rapier in hand and his teeth barred, angry at himself for leading the others into a trap. Kopra's father stood and grabbed a small crossbow from under his desk, pushing the trigger plate down. Kopra saw the movement coming, the twitch in Opra's arms as he went to reach, and Kopra rolled to the side; the crossbow missed and implanted itself in the door. Kopra took the initiative and dived over the desk, crouching and delivering a punch to Opra's solar plexus before twisting his arm around and putting him in a choke hold and faced him towards the door.

The sound of fighting ceased downstairs, and the air was filled with tension. Kopra and Opra remained silent aside from the occasional struggle to get free from the choke hold, no one made a sound. Footsteps were heard coming up from the stairs, and the door to the office banged open. Kopra's face was full of hope, but it quickly changed to despair as the man in the doorway was not any of his friends, but a well-known and bloodied assassin with a crimson long sword in his hand. The arm around Opra's neck became tighter, starting to suffocate him. The assassin frowned at the situation, his eyes darting to anything that could be used to his advantage. The Thief, Kopra, and the assassin stared at each other, trying to figure out an upper hand in the situation. Seeing no way to defeat the obviously skilled assassin, Kopra decided his way out. He back up towards the window and grabbed Opra tightly before smashing his face through the glass. The shuffle of the assassin's feet could be heard behind Kopra, but he was already gone; in the moment he had smashed his father's face through the window, he and jumped along with him, using his father's body as a cushion as he hit the ground. Kopra had the wind knocked from his lungs as he hit the ground, and he bruised his arms as they were pushed into his deceased father's body. Rolling over, he could see the assassin looking down at him with a mixture of scorn and respect. The contract giver was dead, and he could not be paid, which explained the scorn; but the respect came deep within, where he could understand the means to take whatever needed to complete the task. The assassin simply nodded and left the windowsill, accepting his defeat. Kopra stood up and hobbled away into the night, despising the cursed place where he had spent so much of his life.

Kopra changed his name, to the name he used to fool people in the taverns that he regularly visited to pick up a quick coin purse, "Vlad", dyed his hair into a dull yellow color and shaved off the developing beard that was growing upon his chin. Kopra mourned over his deceased brethren, as he reminisced of the old fun and jokes they had while they went out, relieving the rich of their heavy coin purses and running away from the occasional guard when they were caught trying to swindle someone. Kopra made his decision that this city had too many bad memories, and that he had overstayed his welcome. In one night he had robbed two empty houses and fenced it, and then he had taken his newly acquired gold and packed his bags with food and leaf edged arrows for his short bow. He left the grand city behind, looking for a new career, a new name for himself.

While Kopra traveled along the roads, sometimes stopping in an isolated village to take some basic necessities for his journeys along the roads, wherever they may lead. Some time after his departure from New Imperia, he encountered an oddity that he never thought he would see again: the assassin from that night at The Blue Flame. He shadowed had shadowed Kopra for quite a while, silently evaluating his actions as he traveled from place to place as a nomad. The assassin revealed himself as the day was waning, somewhere in the middle of the forests west of New Imperia as a criminal who often associated with an association known as, none other than, The Wargs. For some time, Kopra had imagined The Wargs as a myth, a story passed down from generations before to keep the teenage children from staying out too late. The assassin extended an offer to Kopra, one of fellowship and work, but also of shelter and food. Kopra, seemingly like he found his true destiny, his place in the chaotic world, accepted the offer without haste. He was now one of the legendary Wargs.

Kopra found his way to the Warg guild headquarters, where he met many of his own kind, the thieves and silent hunters of the night. He found his place, and his mentors throughout the secret location. This was where he trained and honed his skills, and where he received special assignments to steal or eliminate someone, putting his knowledge of the surrounding plants and elements to his advantage. He made a name for himself among The Wargs as a potion master, one of which was respected for created complicated concoctions that would either knock someone out for a period of time, or permanently. Soon he made his way all the way to the top, being directly associated with the guild leader, more often than not explained as a mysterious character that held even more mysterious power. Soon, he became a trusted member of the guild master, Robael, and he became a companion and consultant to the honored master of Wargs.

Soon, along with his friend and leader Robael, he set his sights for Surna, and only his objectives and motives are conjecture.

Skills: Sneaking: Overview - [Adept] Throughout Kopra's life, he has mastered the ways of blending in with the crowd and revealing himself only when necessary. Though Kopra has made mistakes, and will make mistakes in the future, he is capable of keeping himself hidden from the notice of public eye if he so pleases.

Intelligence: Overview - [Poor/Average] Though he has not received a formal education, he keeps to what he is especially good at, which is potions, locks, and anatomy. Math, along with reading gives him trouble from time to time, though he is able to keep himself from looking like a complete imbecile, he has trouble.

Physical Prowess: Overview - [Average] Kopra's ability to fight has been taught to him since he was a young boy in the slums, who often used fists instead of words to settle problems with other boys. His swordsmanship has been taught to him in such a way that he does not use a sword like a front line soldier, but as a fencer, who only shows one side of his body as a target. Though he has his bow, he has never been the most accurate with it, sometimes missing completely with it.

Cunning/Wisdom: Overview - [Average] Being a thief is no easy task, and it requires both an agile mind and an agile body to accomplish it. There are no idiot thieves, there are only idiot muggers. Kopra, along with his rag-tag band of friends often came up with intricate ways of infiltrating and taking the loot that they needed from the homes they required. Kopra may be a good planner, but sometimes he over thinks and overlooks a problem that may cause a dent in his plans, or cause them to fail all-together.

Arcane/Mystical: Overview - [Poor] Arcane and mystics are things that take years to master and use effectively, they also require quite a bit of money to accomplish such mastery. Kopra had neither the money, nor the understanding of the arcane to learn anything about it. Kopra may not understand the magics of the realm, but he does appreciate the mages he consulted within The Wargs to help him when he planned for an especially big target.

Survival: Overview - [Adept] Through his time in the forests of Sanctimonia, he has learned the ways of nature and the ability to hunt, though it annoys him. Kopra keeps his survival instincts honed, as he was a hunted man even in the city of New Imperia, where he often had to keep a light sleep and a constant paranoia about him to keep himself, and his friends alive.

I cannot express what magnificence I've just read. If you can sit down and read a single biography on these forums, I think I've just found my favorites.

Ten out of ten, welcome to the Wargs, my good man.

Only thing that could truly be improved with this bio is format, but even then, it's just simple; simple is nice in its own way.

Oh without a doubt.

ONLY thing I can say as a 'complaint', if you can really call it that, is that you don't have the arrows or bow included in your inventory... So, yeah. Damn good work.
