This is Project Poseidon calling any available ships in the area. We are running low on supplies and need help or we'll starve. We promise to contribute our research facilities to anyone who helps us, along with access to our bioengineering research. We desperately need supplies, please help us.

This message is set on a looping high band frequency transmitting in all languages with coordinates to the planet.

Space ripples for a moment as 9 ships stretch from what looks like several points. The ships are 4 large transport/science vessels and 5 corvettes. Upon entering the system, the ships send out a transmission to the research station.

An audio message with a transcript and a dictionary are sent to the only planet in the system. The message reads: "Hello, we are from the rhyndir union. We have heard your distress signal and desire to aid you, please send the coordinates to our ship of what part of the planet you are from. We have food and excess life support supplies."

The ships head toward the planet and begin an orbit around it. Sensors on one of the science vessels are scanning the planet for a response. Meanwhile, the rest of the fleet is monitoring the area for other ships. They are new to the galaxy and have not met any other races. They don't know what to expect in response or even if the current situation is a ploy. What could these people look like? Will they be super geniuses or massive dumb brutes? The crew remains wary of the situation.

The transmission sent back from the planet crackles as a storm grows over the location of the lab.

The transmission cuts out. Suddenly five defense satellites spring to life and fire beams of energy at the inbound ships.

The power in all 9 of the ships is diverted to shields and electronic warfare. The operators of these systems have trained for such a situation. Code scrolls infront of the Kretzel's eyes. Records of the message earlier are scanned for the code used. These raw data packets are used to translate the coding for the turrets. They sniff out data going to and from the turrets and attempt to gain access. They do everything possible to protect their ships and get to the people in need below.

The storm is in full effect on the planet cutting off all communications within its boundaries. Anything other than space capable crafts will not survive the storm.

The satellites continue firing shot after shot at the incoming ships. The planet's orbit brings four more satellites into range adding to the firepower. The lasers continue their onslaught missing with some shots connecting with a few. The more time the lasers are given to fire, the more power they build and the deadlier the shots will become.

The lasers bounce off of the particle shields, a few shots hurt them. One of the corvettes loses shields all together.As the hacking attempts dont appear to work, a signal is sent out into space from a cargo vessel momentarily. The science/transport vessels continue to sift through the information going through the turrets making attempts at disabling. The corvettes have given up on peacfully taking over the turrets and fire several beams back at the turrets in an attempt to destroy them. The signal had almost instantly reached 2 destroyers waiting behind the fleet in a neighboring system. These destroyers jump into the system and make their way into the fray.

The satellite's code is completely different from what the Rhyndir ships, this slows efforts in their hacking attempts.

The lasers continue firing. Four explode in a shower of sparks and debris. The remaining satellite's accuracy starts to falter, but the lasers continue firing out. The two that are left struggle to find targets against the ECM.

The storm on the planet continues to rage.

The lasers from the turrets fly by the ships as they hug into a tighter formation. A lucky shot hits the corvette with out shields, tearing into the armor but not getting all the way through. Engineer onboard the wounded ship attempts to get the shields back to partial function. The destroyers have gotten closer to the fight and are in firing range. A loud crack is heard inside one of the destroyers as it fires its larger mass drivers at the defences. The Destroyers move in to destroy what is left of the defenses.The Science vessels focus on helping the accuracy of the crews on the corvettes and destroyers by sending information scanned from the turrets. The ship that had sent its earlier message tries to detect any more inbound defenses.

All the satellite defense systems are destroyed in that section of the sky. In three hours six more satellites will rotate into position from the far side of the planet, but this presents no immediate threat.

Small broadcasts of static break through the hellish storm on the planet, a clever navigator could find the way, or a clever communications specialist could pin point the destination.

Breaching the planet's atmosphere, any ship would be met with a giant dark cloud miles (Or kilometers for people clinging to the metric system) in diameter. Apart from this would be a never ending ocean of blue farther than the eye can see.

The Destroyers hold a position watching the satallites approach in their orbital path.
The one ship that took a hit in the fight is staying back with them in order to repair its hull and shields before the defenses arrive.
The science/transports descend into the atmosphere with the corvettes. Scanning the changes in temperature, electromagnetic rays, or anything else observable by these ships. The descent is very bumpy as the air thickens.
The ships halt before it becomes too treacherous and begin to attempt at relaying their message using much higher frequencies to pierce the thick cloud. They want to detect the base while sending a message back

"We will be there soon to help, we are entering the atmosphere now. If you can send us your location or a signal of some kind, we would find you much faster."

The scanners on one ship are focusing on guessing at the location of the base by following the static signal and using a sonar like detection system. Whether this will work is unknown.

In the depths of the storm a moment of clarity opens the view of the upper portions of the base. The landing pad is only large enough to land one drop ship at a time. There is still static coming from the base.

The small ship deactivates it's cloaking system and sends a transmission to the neighboring ships. The languages sent are currently in Zeadrax, being their best known foreign speech.

Are you zeadrax? we have encountered this language before from the Pyura Station. We would appreciate help from you as long as the research station and its findings are shared amongst both nations. We do not want to quarrel over the ownership of technology.

The ships already entering the planet remain where they are to hear out the rest of the situation with this new ship.

The single ship turns to a glowing blue, then simply vanishes. In it's place, a medium sized black ship appears. After a scan of the planet, this new ship moves to the landing pad revealed from the lab. Another transmission is sent, in the same Zeadrax language as before.

The Moira ship takes up the entire landing pad. The storm begins to ease off as time continues. Four turrets cover the doorway to an elevator entrance. On the entrance is a keypad.

From outside it is clear the storm broke the communications array. All communication with the base personnel is impossible at this time.

The storm is beginning to finish.

The Rhyndir Union

The fleet of ships forms in a defensive position to destroy the defense satallites as they come into range. The transports attempt to send a final message to the ship on the surface:

The tell-tale signs of slipspace are evident, as a flash of energy brings to existence two vessels, whom almost immediately vanish. The vessels' stealth systems engage as soon as they enter the system, with advanced radar and visual cloaking methods. Scanners would work to look over the ships briefly, before focusing on the planet and its facilities.One vessel would approach the planet, hugging close to its contours and staying safely above atmosphere.

A strong psychic sweep would be initiated from the second ship, staying further back. The piercing properties of the scan would work to find any lifeforms within the system, and pinpoint their locations as well as identifying an other psychic entities.

Aboard the other ship, preparations are made to begin operations.

The scans reveal hundreds of satellites orbiting the planet. The scans toward the water only reveal areas touched by the solar system's sun, anything deeper just has a dark feeling toward it, like there's something down there. Any deep scans, psychic or electronic, are interrupted by the storms in progress, giving only a vague sense of the immensity of the research station.

The turrets next to the elevator begin tracking any movements made by the approaching soldiers. The barrels begin to spin with each step the Moira take. The turrets stop spinning and stop tracking.

A PA system crackles on.

The elevator door opens.

Sounds come from the elevator as the Moira descend.


At the bottom they are greeted by a human scientist.

Thank god you've come, we were running low on supplies we only have enough for another three days.

The storm outside finally comes to a close, revealing four more landing platform and a beautiful orange sun filling the sky.

The vessel closer to the planet prepares its hangar, and five entities standing around fifteen feet tall each jump out of the shielded doors. Thrusters direct the pods and they head to one of the now opened landing platforms, their long legs softening the blow. Four of the pods open to reveal an assortment of glowing blue units and green colored drones. The fifth pod remains closed, and shields flicker to life on its surface. The group would attempt to locate any entrance, and cautiously approach it.

In addition to the pods, a dozen machines jump from orbit as well, and they plunge into the depths of the ocean, close to the landing platforms. The machines would be suited for aquatic environments, and would begin to map out the station as well as placing small devices on the metal of the station at certain intervals.

The five pods slam into the platform hard from orbit. The platform having recently been inundated, is not particularly strong. The impact causes major cracks to spread quickly through the platform. Suddenly, half the platform breaks off with a loud cracking sound. Three of the pods fall off into the water with everyone that they brought. Two of the pods survive this ordeal unharmed, on the uncracked portion of the platform, the rest disappear into the depths of the dark abyss that is the ocean. On the surface above this wreck, blood can barely be made out by a watchful eye.

The robots that patrol the water mapping it, begin to lose transmission. One by one the robots stop transmitting a signal until all are lost. The last one sends an image of giant teeth back. The devices on the station are quickly removed by robots that make continual repairs being seen as hazardous to the station's health. The maintenance bots continue to patrol the station making repairs.
