PostSubject: Sector 25 - Pyura Station   Fri Nov 16, 2012 2:20 pm

Quote :
A massive station rests comfortably within the dark space between the stars of Sector 25. It is busy with traffic, as commercial freighters and vessels circle it as it prepares for its opening. The Markings of the Zaedrax Tetrabune and the Amundi Republic illuminate two locations on the station, and there remains space for more if need be.

The station itself is circular, its hull a mixture of white and slightly brown tinged metals. Lights run along the station, and it is surrounded by a thin outer ring as well as sporting two cityscapes. A large conical shape is the centerpiece of the station, with another large ring encompassing it. Four struts jut out of the ring, two of them would begin to detach from the station, circling around it slowly. Large crevices within the station begin to glow softly as the two vessels maintain a safe distance from it. After a short time, the intensity of the glow increases, and finally a burst of energy is released. The station would appear to be within a heat haze now, rippling about. From all sides, the station's location would appear to be a distortion now, almost perfectly black. Pyura Station is ready.

Three ships besides the detached ones now stay within proximity of the location, all bearing Zaedrax markings. They would not be the only thing within the proximity of the station, as there are a large amount of Amundi-made Railgun stations and Zaedrax-made MAC stations that guard the station.

Shortly after being encompassed within its anomaly, the station sends out a massive spike of energy, within it carrying a message:

The Amundi Republic and the Zaedrax Tetrabune welcome all nations to follow the coordinates located within this energy spike. It will guide you to Pyura Station, a place where all nations can meet and discuss politics and conduct trade.

This message is sent in Amundi, Zaedrax, UCUS, and Templar binary, as well as in Amundish, Zaedrax, Templese and Swedish. The message is also sent with a digital dictionary for each language the message was sent in.

The RSS Mercy along with the RSS Valiant and the RSS Antiguo jump into the system and transmit a message in their language along with a dictionary.

The message and language are decoded, and a response in the new nation's language is sent back with haste:

On behalf of the Zaedrax Tetrabune and Amundi Republic, we welcome you to Pyura Station, or at least its location. As with standard procedures, we would request that you commence trade and diplomacy once you have docked or landed within Pyura Station's spires. You may choose to dock your ship in its entirety, or simply send a shuttle. We would welcome both approaches.

One of Pyura Station's large spires that had detached would glow with life, awaiting the nation's decision.

RSS Mercy responds

Quote :
Acknowledged

The large ship lets out a several dropships accompanied by fighters, which make their way toward the docking bays.

Upon docking they begin unloading their commerce able artifacts, carrying only samples of their goods. The head Diplomat, Michael Riggs, proceeds toward the command deck accompanied by two guards, carrying holstered pistols, as the more heavily armed Rangers in the docking bay continue unloading crates.

Two small crates, sealed and shielded by several different layers of metals including lead, solid steel, plasteel, as well as contrasting smells of food inside it, are left on the parked ships, hidden from view.

The ships would be received, and the exiting diplomats and soldiers would be escorted by a automaton, and two soldiers. The group would approach a comfortable room, with a large table stretching almost the length of the room. A Zaedrax and Amundi diplomat would be sitting at one end of the table, the other end beckoning to the other diplomat. A small interface would raise when the diplomat sits down, displaying multiple options and functions in his language. The Zaedrax diplomat would press a button on his console before speaking in the visitor's native tongue:

I am a representative of the Zaedrax Tetrabune, and sitting next to me would be a representative for Amundi Republic. Now, to help these negotiations and discussions progress, we would ask what your nation's name is, your name perhaps, and also what you would want to see from these negotiations. Are you more focused on trade, diplomacy, or perhaps both?

The two bodyguards stand by the wall behind their diplomat, clad in full armor. Michael Riggs takes his seat at the table. He begins punching in the proper commands to communicate properly.

Quote :
Greetings, I am representative Riggs from the Republic of Soter. We are a new nation but have managed to expand and colonize a second planet. We are currently in the process of expanding and colonizing. What we would love is to meet no hostilities in space, and if possible craft diplomatic as well as trade relations with any species we find. As a gesture of goodwill, we are unloading some delicacies from our planet as well as other gifts that our planet cherishes so that you may feel the full extent of our sincerity.

With a smile the representative finishes his speech and eyes the other representatives in the room.

The interior of the spire does a routine scan, checking for any malicious items or devices

The Zaedrax diplomat is helmeted, as are the majority of their race. He provides a nod, hoping to convey his appreciation before responding:

I thank you on behalf of the Zaedrax people, and your actions show a dedication to further the diplomatic process. It is good to have a nation willing to approach diplomacy as the first choice, and you are in good company. Currently we are on Spire two of Pyura Station, which will serve just fine for preliminary diplomatic and trade discussions. Pyura Station is massive, and has dedicated facilities for these sort of things. When we have furthered our diplomatic standing and you wish to not only set up a permanent ambassador, but also a permanent trade post, we would gladly accept you aboard the facilities of Pyura Station. Until then, let us begin with the discussions.

The diplomat readjusts himself before continuing:

As our first diplomatic action, we would like to propose a Treaty of Non-Aggression, instating that our nations will be friendly towards each other, and avoid any sort of aggressions that may develop in the long run, which we hope they wont. Along with this, we would like to also open up trade between our nations, and start it with a trade agreement. We would wish to know what your nation can offer, and we will provide what we can, and then we can work from there.

The diplomat pauses for a second, then begins his response.

Quote :
The Republic of Soter is willing to set up a permanent trade depot and residence on your station as well as a permanent trade post. We offer mass produced goods, entertainment devices from our planet as well as raw materials. But what do you have to offer us in return? Our technology is expanding, as are our armed forces. If you wish to trade in technology we would have to arrange something of equal value. We also agree to the non-aggression pact, pending what the council on Soter votes on.

The representative once more sits awaiting a response.

The Zaedrax diplomat ponders the response before providing his own:

We will proceed to show you to the proper areas where trade can be established after we have settled upon the current trade agreement..

The diplomat would swipe some commands onto his console, sending some location sites among Pyura Station over to the Republic of Soter's diplomat before continuing:

In exchange for entertainment devices, we would provide civilian goods of our own. Raw materials would also be appreciated, and we can provide some rare and precious metals as well. As for technology, what does your nation have to offer in the fields of weaponry, defense, ships, navigation, and sensors?

The diplomat sends a quick message to his soldiers and aides. They immediately pack up their supplies and move to their designated areas. The transport ships move to their new docking bays still concealing their package. The fighters transfer with the transport ships as well. A full armed guard is present at all times to guard their property.

The diplomat finished his message and returns attention to the diplomatic meeting.
Quote :

We have our own blend of plastic and steel structures, allowing for strong metal structures that are easily moldable. We are currently in the process of reverse engineering other devices at this time, and have made a lot of improvements to magnetically accelerated cannon technologies. We are also currently experimenting with a wide array of other weapons as well.

The Republic's soldiers would be confused, as Spire 2 does not have the location of any of the designated areas. Instead, they would be redirected to a screening room. A guard approaches the group, saying:
"Sorry for the inconvenience, but as with all new visitors and cargo, we're going to have to run some scans. Just to be safe."

The screening room would do its searches quick with advanced scanners, and then the group would be escorted to a long corridor, stretching to a large ramp. Engineers would be viewing the end of the ramp from an enclosed area before activating it, opening a capsule.

The guards would escort the group to the capsule, in order to enter the station.

Back at the diplomatic office, the Zaedrax diplomat continues:

I apologize for any inconveniences, our security is rather tight. If you wouldn't mind, we'd wish to scan any supplies or cargo that would be brought onto the cargo. You can choose to either bring all of it down to this ship, or let some probes simply scan the ships. Your choice. .

The diplomat makes the proper arrangements for either choice, and then continues on:

Your variant of building material is interesting and would possibly benefit certain elements of Zaedrax construction. The Amundi would perhaps like this advancement as well. As for MAC technology, we have a surplus of that, as is visible by our one-hundred and fifty odd defense platforms for this station. As previously mentioned, would you have any advancements within the fields of sensors or navigation?

OOC: Wait you have a slipspace field inside a space station, generating a lot of power, which folds space which would kill anything not reinforced, and probably rip apart the station itself because that fields gonna suck things into it so everything around it unshielded is completely and utterly dead.

Trade ships bearing no empires flag enter the sector from the direction of Sector Twenty. The ships maneuver away from the large battle ships present, cautious not to cause hostile confrontation between them and the trade ships. They head toward the trading post to sell their excess materials.

It approaches the station silently and smoothly as it glides through space. It has a similar design to the Saerid Directive's ships with the same slickness and robotic feel. Though the Saerid have traded with many other stations, it appears they are traveling to different stations to try and get the most of the minerals they have to offer.

The new ships would be approached by small drones, which would quickly scan the vessels for anything malicious before guiding them to Spire One.

The Spire is identical to the one that received the Republic of Soter's ambassadors and cargo.
The Spire would have multiple hangars, and locations for vessels of all sizes to dock.

A communication line would be opened, awaiting the new ships' input.

Upon being scanned by the drones, the small ships would be carrying two large constructs and five smaller ones per ship. In what appears the be the cargo bay, crates of various metals and fuel can be picked up by the scanners.

The ships continue to be silent and continue to drift through the sector to spire one and land if granted the permission to.

The lights would begin to flash near the docks and hangars, and the communication channel hums with life:

"Unidentified vessels, you are cleared for landing. We can assume by your ships that you are here for trade. Simply follow the guards aboard the spire, and we will transport you and your cargo to the station".

Disembarking from the ship, the units stand at 10" tall but carry no visible weaponry. Labor units in the back of the ships move the tons of metal out of the cargo and onto the hangar bay. The two larger units follow the guards but the labor units stay with the goods the Saerid have to sell.

// You're not on the station. You're on one of the two ships that can attach to it, Spire Two. This is because the station exists within a slipspace anomaly, making it inaccessible via normal means. So, they are entering a large capsule which is slipspace rated, which will then send them within the anomaly, and into the station.

Guards would lead the labor units with their cargo to a large room ending in a ramp and a large capsule. They would enter it, and it would be launched out of Spire One, into a slipspace portal at the rear of the ship.

The capsule would exit directly next to the massive station, now visible. It would dock with the station, and the group would be escorted to the trading deck to commence with their activities.

OOC: Ok that makes a lot more sense

The soldiers proceed to board their supplies, the ships they came in on remain in the hangar bay with their secret cargo intact, as well as an armed guard stationed there full time. The other soldiers submit to the scans, as they have nothing to hide, and proceed to their new positions through the capsule to the other station and set up their new offices and embassies. The soldiers in the hangar begin setting up their trading post area.

Representative Riggs turns to the diplomat
Quote :

Scans should be fine, as the cargo is unloaded we will allow you to scan it, but as we have only just started diplomacy, we cannot trust your probes. I'm sure you understand. As for other technologies, we're experimenting with new navigation drives as well as new radar systems. The question is, what can you offer for our technologies and data, otherwise we will only be able to trade goods.

A transparent bubble appears outside of the station; it constantly expands until it pops in a flash of white light in its place there is one Hurricane class battlecruisers and a large civilian cruiser. Upon the civilian cruiser Assembly Man Heisan beams a message directly to the station, "This is Assembly Man Heisan from the Imperri Leonum, this is Pyura Station, yes? This ship holds the first metal transaction for with our trade with the Zaedrax. May we come aboard?"

Only the massive amount of defense stations, three Zaedrax vessels, space anomaly, and two spires are present, Spire One proceeds to receive the ship's message and respond:

"Welcome Imperri Leonum vessels, this is indeed the location of Pyura Station. You are clear to dock with Spire One."

A few drones would approach the vessels and guide them to the docking area on Spire One.

Aboard Pyura Station, the Republic of Soter's group would be informed of the facilities aboard the massive 160 kilometer station, telling them of the trade levels and of the two cityscapes.

On Spire Two, the Zaedrax diplomat would respond:

"We have advancements in beam weapons, particle shielding, energy sources, navigation, civilian technology and AI research. As it would seam, the only technology we would be interested in from your nation would be any research and advancements it has on radar and scanning technology."

The civilian cruiser follows the drones as the Hurricane stays behind and waits idly behind. The cruiser soon stops itself paralleled with Spire One and extends a large docking tube. Once its tube is properly secured, a man dressed in Leonum colors and with a ceremonial sword is seen next to two Imperial Marines.

Behind them a glimpse of civilian containers can be seen being loaded onto a large dolly for transport onto the station.
