SECTOR 10 - DALON

CAPTAIN HARENG

===

The Amundi capital ship, Hughis Aerlis, warps to the planet. They immediately begin to scan the planet. Captain Hareng tries to maintain a calm composure, but the whole ship is tingling with excitement. They aren't planning on inhabiting this planet. When their scans come up with H3 they all go wide eyed.

"Send a ground team down immediately to secure the planet." Captain Hareng orders. Some nearby Amundi nod and begin working furiously at their computers. In the hangar several ground teams load up into their shuttles and head down to the surface of the planet. They will immediately begin to survey the land and set up base when they land.

The fluctuations of electromagnetic energy are noted, but ignored for the highly valuable H3, for now.

As the Federation shuttles breach planetary orbit and approach it's surface, they descend upon a tropical paradise. The landscape seems completely untouched by civilization as forests and vegetation, scarred by rivers and lakes, can be spotted by the survey teams.

Upon further surveying, the Amundi shuttles would come across indigenous wildlife and carcasses, suggesting predatory lifeforms on the surface below. Caution might be required.

However, as the Amundi Federation neglects sending any forces to investigate the electromagnetic anomaly, they are unable to discover the source and direct cause of a massive electromagnetic pulse that suddenly erupts from the northern parts of the the tropical world, sweeping across it like a tranquil wave. If the Amundi vessels did not break off immediately, they would surely be caught in the wave and crash into the dense forests below. For some of the shuttles in close proximity to the pulse, it might already be too late.

Additionally, an emergency distress signal emits from the epicenter of the pulse. A signal which could be detected by the other Empires of the galaxy. These tragic turn of events might have been avoided, had the Federation not let the thought of gaining a vital resource blind them of a looming threat.

[A powerful distress signal calls for assistance across the galaxy. All Empires may pick this up and enter the system.]

After detecting a massive distress signal, the Offensive Fleet sets its slipspace drives to the coordinates that it originated from.
A large black void appears near the planet, and it bursts with a pulse of purple hued energy. The Offensive Fleet exits the portal produced, all of the vessels' shields engaged. They quickly scan the local area, and detect Amundi ship signatures. The ship currently leading the fleet, The ZTN Knight, opens a feed with the Amundi ship, greeting them with a traditional Amundi greeting before getting to business.

SECTOR 10 - DALON

CAPTAIN HARENG

===

Two of the several Amundi shuttles are disabled by the pulse, one hitting the planet hard enough to kill all the Amundi inside, the other landing safely enough to only kill a few Amundi, leaving the remaining Amundi in that shuttle stranded.

After the Amundi get the message from the Zaedrax they respond. "We are fine for the most part. We've lost contact with our shuttles after an EMP pulse over the planet. We believed both the signal and the pulse came from the northern portion of the planet. We would gladly invite you to help us in our efforts to explore this planet. All we ask of this planet is that we receive one-hundred percent of the H3 found here."

After the message was sent to the Zaedrax, the Hughis Aerlis would begin to scan the location of the signal and the pulse.

As the joint Amundi-Zeadrax coalition perform scans for the source of the EM anomaly, they would discover a massive increase in civilized infrastructure. Constructed against a mountainside in the middle of a dense and fog-ridden rainforest.

It was a city, mediocre in size. Yet geographical evidences suggests it to have been erected recently. There were no bio-signatures emitting from it, no matter what kind of scanners that were used. It was entirely lifeless.

The electromagnetic fluctuations and distress signal were emitting from it, yet they were transmitted from different locations. The EM anomaly was seeping out of a central structure in the city. A tower. Meanwhile, the distress signal seemed to be coming from a compound to the north-west of it.

Though the Saerid do not answer distress signals, this proves a great time to explore the sector near their home. Some new ships created by the Saerid and Ursine enter the sector. Three destroyers, two cruisers and one carrier enter the sector gracefully. The ships slowly creep toward the planet, not bothering to open communications with the other empires.

As the ships drift closer to the planet, the scanners on the unnamed planets begin to scan the planet, likely to show the same results given to the other empires. The hangars of the battle ships open and beams of light shine brightly in the dead of space.

SECTOR 10 - DALON

CAPTAIN HARENG

===

Upon the discovery of what seems to be a recently built city Captain Hareng is puzzled. He urges the Amundi on the ground to continue setting up bases of operation. He sends down two more shuttles. One to rescue the crashed shuttles, and one to further investigate this city. The shuttle investigating the city would drop Amundish tracked vehicles far from the city in a small camp. Captain Hareng then sends a message to the Zaedrax. "I would invite you to join my ground team. They're prepared in tracked vehicles to venture to the city. I've sent you the co-ordinates on the planet." All Amundish vehicles are electric, and thus could be disabled by a powerful EM pulse, but the vehicles do have protective measures to prevent damage from an EM pulse.

When the Saerid enter the sector Captain Hareng purses his lips beneath the shade of his hood. He sends a message to the Saerid in binary. "This is Amundi Federation controlled space, we would ask that you explain your reason for being here."

The message is only answered back with white noise. Despite the activity that can be scanned in the hangars, the ships appear dead all around. Weaponry seems activated but in a non-threatening way. The Saerid ships continue to drift through the void of space, offering only static to those who seek to communicate with them. The destroyer ships engulf the less combat savvy carrier and cruiser ships as they make their weapon opposite to the other empires fleets and the Amundi home world.

Many THOR's and transport craft begin to leave the hangars and make way for the planet as well as the beams of light, that travel at an alarming speed. After a few moments of being launched, the beams connect with the planet some ways away from the city. Large dust clouds form where the beams strike and leaves a massive crater to those who can see it.

Most of the beams land outside the city, as the contents of the drops are mechanical in nature. Though a few later beams land near the outskirts of the city. As the canisters open, they reveal one Ursine soldier in each pod. The Ursine fall over and spew their guts onto the concrete floor, being rather sick from the journey to the planet. However, this doesn't last long and they quickly rise to their feet, strap their weaponry on from inside the canisters and cover their faces with a large gas mask and thermal goggles. Their skin is barely visible, hidden away from multiple layers of fabric. After getting situated, the polar bear like race moves out to the heart of the city. They travel on foot in the direction of the tower.

The units outside of the EM anomaly prep a swift escape route for themselves and a makeshift camp to stay at. The multiple transports and THOR's land and hover over the camp. Troops pour out from the transports and into the camp, setting up large weaponry to defend themselves should they have to. The THOR's scout the surrounding area but do not dare to travel close to the EM anomaly. The sound is deafening as they fly around.

The Saerid space craft drift around the planet and away from the other empire's sight.

SECTOR 10 - DALON

CAPTAIN HARENG

===

The tracked vehicles of the Amundi would be accompanied by an Amundish tank, about 3 feet wide, 6 feet long, and 4 feet tall (turret included), it is armed with a 10cm railgun and three smaller AI controlled machineguns. It has a crew of 2. It is in the middle of the convoy of Amundish tracked vehicles. They would begin to move towards the city with the Zaedrax ground forces in tow.

Meanwhile, Captain Hareng contacts the Zaedrax ship with a message in Zaedrax. "We have attempted to contact the UCUS ships here to no avail. Please be wary as we aren't sure of their intentions." The Hughis Aerlis keeps the shields at full power, and doesn't power up any weapons. Captain Hareng monitors the progress of the ground team from the various cameras mounted on the vehicles. They are lead by Guide Faquei who is inside one of the middle tracked vehicles.

As the fierce storm continues to ravage above the strange city, both the Amundi and Saerid base camps would fall under frequent attacks by one of the planet's indigenous lifeforms shortly after their founding. It was reptilian in nature, and had the ability to engage an active camouflage, rendering them nigh-invisible to the eye. It was also capable of launching a highly corrosive acid from it's mouth.

They traveled in packs of ten, standing five foot tall and mostly ambushed patrols and perimeter guards by jumping down from any high-ground available.

Spoiler:

______________________

As the faction convoys and search parties enter the city and breaching into it's dense and unnatural fog, they realize they are having a hard time seeing without electronic assistance. The fog is so thick that a man would be able to see nothing more than maybe 6-7 ft. ahead of himself. Anyone without equipment such as thermals or infrared would be going blindly into the city streets.

______________________

As the Ursine troops advance through the streets, they would come across hover-cars sitting idly in the middle of the roads. Abandoned. No signs of anyone entering or exiting them. The electronic pulse had caused the vehicles to fall to the ground, but other than that, there are no signs of anyone having been using them.

Around them were commercial businesses, shops, residential areas. All untouched. Some of the windows and doors are open, but other than that, there is no physical damage to the structures.

Upon closer inspection of the vehicles, the insides are all covered in carbon dust.

The Amundi-Zaedrax convoy would have similar results.

In the city the Ursine troopers almost completely ignore the hover craft. Some of the near forty Ursine split off and venture into some of the buildings, ransacking them for anything of use. The main party continues to travel to the tower and to the heart of the anomaly. They seem fearful but travel on regardless.

In the camps, the reptilian pounces onto one of the units and its acidic chews away at the Saerid metal. Away from other units, the other patrol units fire at the downed unit. As downed unit's head explodes in a fiery mess, the patrol group falls back to the flatland's of their camp. Before the units regroup at their camp, the units grab the corpse of the creature they killed, should they have killed it. They place it in one of the transport THOR's.

(Continuing, since thoro is being a bloody oaf and is slow as fuck to post)

Upon entering the various structures, the Ursine looters find little of note. Most of the buildings they venture into seems to be office complexes, with the occasional residential quarters dotting through its levels. Bunch of civilian computer equipment and documents. Nothing of any true value to a expanding galactic Empire, nor relevant to what happened here.

Meanwhile, the Saerid are having a hard time bringing any viable specimen of the reptilian predators on-board their ships. Upon death, the corrosive acid kept stored up in it's stomach is released throughout the creature's interior, reducing it to sludge.

The Zaedrax would discover similar facilities within the buildings they enter, and they find nothing of importance. Additionally, they come across nothing within the vehicles, as everything has been fried by the EM pulse.

The Ursine troopers inside the city continue to trek on after reaching the heart of the city. They plan to reach the tower soon. The two parties that split up rejoin together despite the lack of communication between them. Hand signals prove to be the best option to maintain the stealth approach they have. Though they are large polar bear like creatures, they, supported by their thermal goggles, have a stealthy way to them while in the city.

The last of the weaponry is finished with being set up after taking it from the large transport THOR's. The encampment is heavily fortified with barriers, trenches, and large weaponry. A party of nearly thirty units sets out of the camp and to the lush surroundings to hunt the reptilians that attacked them before.. They are equipped with large gauss rifles as well as a net gun like rifle. It's designed to manually or automatically capture a target. It delivers a nasty shock to its victim to incapacitate it for hunter.

Curiosity gets the best of some of the Ursine troopers in the camp. The desire to move about fuels the Ursine to fall into rank and create another group. They equip with the same protective, yet light weight, gear. Thermal goggles and gigantic gauss rifles are a must for the large race of bears. They board some of the transports and set out for the distress call but manuever around the anomaly to avoid tech failure.

Saerid and and Ursine ships in space are near inactive. Tons of supplies seem to be used on the planet as more and more transports and THOR's leave the hangars of the large space craft. Anyone still wanting to speak with the ships would only receive white noise: static.

SECTOR 10 - DALON

CAPTAIN HARENG

===

The tracked vehicles and Guide Faquei would simply follow the Zaedrax troops, providing support and using their vehicles to help traverse more quickly.

Captain Hareng closely watches the activity of the UCUS ships. "I want scans done on the planet for UCUS camps. I then want ground teams to approach the camps in order to contact them."

The ship's scanners would eventually find a UCUS camp and an Amundish ground team would be sent to speak with them. This ground team would be led by Guide Luak, and would comprise of one Amundish tracked vehicle and ten Amundish soldiers, including Guide Luak. They would approach the UCUS camp in the tracked vehicle after a shuttle dropped them off a good distance away from the camp.

Some of the weaponry connected to the advanced AI system target the shuttle and track it as it descends. It later follows the ground team when they are in sight of the weapons. Units move into battle positions with a moments notice, readying gauss rifles and netguns. They line around the small encampment much similar to that of the pirate base in Sector 18. Trenches and barriers protect the units and the few Ursine troopers that stayed there. However, they do not fire, but rather set up a defensive line should the Amundi prove hostile.

Most of the activity is not from the units themselves but from something under the encampment, should the Amundi scanners be able to scan beneath the planet. Makeshift stairs lead down to the underside of the base and labor units are constantly moving to and fro between the underground and the transport dock. The encampment walls are coated with a layer of lead to protect itself from many elements the planet may have to offer. Though it appears the wall is to extend almost like a dome structure around the base to protect it fully. Should the Amundi approach the base closely the gate would stop them before they entered. Tank like units and large 10" units block the path to the gate.

Most of the construction is halted upon the Amundi arrival but the labor units continue to move equipment around the base from the transport space craft. They help maneuver the large tank units around the base and to the walls where they would be of more use. Instead of going back into space, THOR's hover around the Amundi like vultures.

No communication is attempted by the encampment to the Amundi and it seems the Saerid intend to be there for awhile longer, if not permanently. Though the base is rather small in size compared to what the Saerid would normally do, it would be almost effortless for the Saerid to expand should they have the desire to.

SECTOR 10 - DALON

CAPTAIN HARENG

===

The Amundish tracked vehicle (called a Tearer by the Amundi) would stop outside the camp. Guide Luak would be the first to exit the vehicle by a door at the side, and would be followed by 7 Amundi soldiers, who would form a defensive formation with Guide Luak at the front. An Amundi would man the guass weapon mounted to the top of the Tearer, while the driver would sit inside the Tearer patiently.

Guide Luak would bare no weapons and be wearing cleaner robes than the soldiers. His robes would be a grey colour, and he would be wearing a protective vest over-top of it. The soldiers would be wearing similar vests, but their robes would be brown and in less pristine condition. The soldiers would be armed with small 10mm guass rifles. They would be similar in size to an Ursine pistol, but the hole for the trigger would be significantly too small for them.

Guide Luak would approach the gates and the Ursine cautiously. He would look at the defenses, to attempt to identify an officer or leader of some description. The Amundi soldiers would be notably nervous of the Ursine soldiers, mainly for their size, which would tower over even the largest Amundi.
