The Templar Remnants
Spoiler:
A Templar Veteran, equipped for close combat (Thanks to BooM for sending me this, and thanks to Krug for the emblem you see above.)
Origins
Spoiler:
Upon first look, The Remnants appear to be a small but very organized civilization, peacefully living on their 'new' home-world, Jove. Despite the seemingly timid nature of the Remnants, some people may know of their history and how lucky they are to have even this single colony, what use to be know as 'The Templar Caste' were an advanced, dominating force that spanned across solar systems, having no qualms with destroying any aliens they came across with little remorse. The Templar believe that countless millennia ago, an ancient race they call 'Creators' (Completely original I know, give me a break.) were at war with another force, before the Creators eventual defeat, they created and left behind 'guides' in the form of etchings and tomes to be found in various ruins across the stars which detailed battle tactics in both space and ground-based warfare, blueprints for advanced technology and what seemed to be stories detailing evil things other alien races have done, which the Templar have been searching for and finding since they first discovered space travel and while the Templars had no proof these guides were meant for them, their threatening nature and stubborness convinced most people to never question it.
As the years went on and they continued their conquest, a large number of Templar civilians and military began to hold a strong hatred toward their people's ways and wanted a more peaceful, tolerant way of life, however constant protests and pleas did nothing to change the minds of the higher officers that lead the race and after a period of apparent peacefulness attacks were made on Templar ships and Colonies, by their own people. The once great race split into two sides and a full-blown civil war soon erupted, this conflict raged on for many years and caused the death of countless soldiers, even the command staff eventually split as a portion of them showed their true, 'good' colors. With billions dead, both sides of the war started ceasefire negotiations, however in their weakened state the various alien races saw this as an opportunity to strike, one of the most devastating enemies being the Aturor, insect-like nomads that made short work of the disorganized fleets, the Templars being defenseless against the onslaught brought upon them, it didn't take long before the attackers assumed the Templars were effectively extinct now.
Soon after the news of their destruction broke out to the joy of many different races, a small fleet bearing the emblem of the Templar quickly warped out of one of the battlefield toward the nearest Templar planet still habitable. Commander Ezekiel Belial (Bonus point if you can tell where the name came from) lead what fraction of his people remained to safety, eventually landing on the mostly intact planet 'Jove' where some of their people still lived, quickly settling into the colony, having expanded it with the resources on hand to accompany the extra people. Due to the mix between Loyalists and Rebels on the planet tensions were high as both sides blamed each-other for the destruction of nearly their entire race, however the remains of the military policing the city made sure that fights were never serious. Ezekiel now spends nearly all his time searching for anymore pockets of his people across the universe, being the only high ranking officer left, he remains the best hope for the continued survival of the Templars.
Appearance/Biology
Spoiler:
The Templar are very human-like in looks and shape, with certain differences being apparent depending on the planet an individual was born and raised on, examples include desert-like areas giving way to darker skin and planets with high gravity cause decreased height, but heavier and more defined muscles. Templar have very generous life-spans, the average being almost 300 years, compared to a regular human they age slowly, adulthood being reached at around 40 years old. Though a rather defining 'aspect' of their race and one that is often the base of jokes about them is that they are slow to develop mentally, akin to their naturally slow aging, a Templar must spend alot of time doing and learning a task in their early age to get it right without help, however upon reaching adulthood their ability to learn is similar to a normal human's. Templar are resistant to most posions and diseases aswell as being naturally durable due to millions of years of evolution in tough environments.

Ranking Structure
Spoiler:
Lord Templar
The supreme leader of the entire Templar race, Military and otherwise. The Lord was generally decided by the last one who ruled, normally being one of the Commanders that has shown they could lead the near trillions of people that made the Templar Caste. Lords receive very heavy augmentation, having massive life-spans, greater super-human strength and speed then even the Commanders and sensitive modifications to the brain to allow faster thought speed although the Lord rarely ever partakes in actual combat. The current Lord Templar is assumed dead after the battle between the leaders of the Loyalists and Rebels though this is not confirmed.
Commander
A member of the Templar military that has proven their leadership and ability to act under extreme pressure, Commanders lead the various divisions of the Templar armies and receive extensive augmentations and cyborg implants throughout their body, this includes extended life-spans, increased physical abilities and regeneration, they also wield and wear some of the finest and most advanced technology into battle, truly a force to be feared on the battlefield. While there use to be 12 Commanders to lead the Templar, Ezekiel assumes he is the only one left.
Captain
A respected officer of the Templar military, a Captain generally leads an army into battle, shouting praise to the troops as they charge toward the enemy. Captains receive a high level of augmentation, possessing the strength needed to prove their worth in combat aswell as using advanced technologies to give them the edge in a battle. Only a few Captains remain, all in the service of Ezekiel.
Elite
Elites tend to make up the Honor Guard of a Captain or Commander, although they also see service in replacing a Captain as a supreme leader in battle as-well as taking charge of smaller platoons, organizing complex strategies in order to pursue victory. Elites are given a moderate level of augmentation, enough so to survive extensive wounds for long periods of time as-well as the strength to use their heavier weapons more effectively. Ezekiel has yet to find a surviving Elite after the war, not a single one still in his service.
Veteran
Veterans make up the bulk of the Templar special forces, being selected for their very impressive skill and battle experience. Veterans mostly serve as leaders of smaller portions of a division, taking orders from the higher ranks before relaying them to the rest of the forces as-well as being on the front lines with the Warriors, happy to remain in the thick of battle in service to the Creators. Ezekiel managed to save a number of Veterans, although due to the low amount of them he considers and treats them like he would any Warrior.
Sergeant
Warriors with a number of years experience under their belt and have shown they have the potential to lead are promoted to the rank of Sergeant and are given a (generally) 10-person squad to lead into battle, the equipment Sergeants are given is only slightly better then that of a Warrior, though they certainly know how to use it better. Quite a few Sergeant's remain in service, though most are still shaken after the war.
Warrior
The first rank after training and initiation into the military if finished, Warriors make up the majority of the Templar forces, seeing servicing in many different areas such as battles on the ground and in space, scouting out areas and setting up communication satellites, they even use to serve as police until a specific force was made for that. Warriors carry powerful equipment into battle though they lack experience a lot of the time, however they have proven time and time again the strength they posses. Many Warriors remain under Ezekiel's command, ready to protect what remains of their people.
