Alignment & Personality

~ Ves considers herself honorable, though definitely not bias towards any one side, whether it's bad or good. In the end, like any mercenary regardless of the formalities, money is what leads Ves to do what she does. She continues to maintain her character, and for all it matters, she has a slight lean towards the good rather than the bad.

Appearance
~ Cardonne stands at five feet and ten inches with broad shoulders and an athletic physique, quite contrary to the typical lithe elf or tiny rogue that inhabits Surna. Her muscles would be apparent if it weren't for the fact that she dresses in either hardened armor or to the minimum, padded leather armor. By no means is the warrior a fashionable woman. Even if her appearance was once attractive, it has been faded away with age and scars from several endeavors. The woman sports an auburn hued coat for her hair, while her blue eyes hide beneath the short bangs that cover her forehead.

The most prominent scars that riddle the focal point -- her face -- include a diagonal slash in the color of pink from the recovered tissue on her left cheek. Around her eyes are several small blots of repaired flesh, most likely a result of a gauntlet to the face. Lastly, a scar rests on her chin from another similar slash to the first scar.

Thirty seven years ago, a mother gave birth to a girl who took up her maiden name, Cardonne. Her father was nonexistent; having fled the settlement several weeks after her mother’s pregnancy began to reveal itself. As religious as the settlement they lived in was, they made an exception for the unwed woman so she may continue to live inside the town. Like her father, education didn’t apply to the small village. The basics were taught, including hunting, fishing, gathering, cooking, and even fletching. Ves was as stubborn as any other child, making her even more liable for chores around the house. After a few years of being able to breathe with the help of her lungs, her mother married a man named Jonathan, and they had another daughter, Ves’ younger half-sister. By the time her half-sister grew at least a partial mind of her own, the original Cardonne was nine years old. She refused to take the surname of her step-father, though she does at least acknowledge the existence of her half-sister. The pre-teen tried her best to provide her little sister with a good model, hoping the littler one would follow Ves exactly in her footsteps. Around her beginner years as a teen, she began to sneak off behind the men when they would hunt for the forest animal’s furs and meat. Intrigued with becoming a provider, she snuck off to the blacksmith during night. A trust blacksmith he was, as he always left his window open while he sleeps to allow the dark breeze sweep in every so often. Within the pitch darkness, she grasped her treat, a small shortsword crafted by the local smith, and returned home. For weeks, she questioned the locals about swordsmanship, hoping to learn with the help of others the art of blades. Eventually, she stormed off with the men as they hunted their game. Still with the mind of a child, she ended up chasing away every animal she attempted to seek. Unfortunately, she didn’t know that hunting is preferably done with a bow from afar rather than a blade up close.

As religious as the villagers were, they began to question Ves’ faith. She showed little to know signs of following their beliefs. She ignored the requests to attend gatherings to pray to their respected idols and disregarded the warnings given to them by the officials of the town. She soon was asked a question, “Do you believe the truth, Ves?” She responded with a negative answer, denying even the possibility of their belief being true. She had no idea that the answer to the question would decide her life on the grassy blades of the town. She was thrown out without a second thought. Upon a main road, she hitched a ride. At the age of sixteen, she arrived at Cramiche. The journey took almost a month, even with several carriages filled with supplies and armaments that were being shipped to that city. Within a few days of the original journey, she befriended the caravan’s guards and the group began to take any free time and breaks and convert them into a training session. At the end of their journey, the group departed, and she was left a set of old leather armor, that surprisingly fit. With her short sword and her armor, she began to creep the nights in search of peasant thieves and idiotic crooks. She wore a helmet that was far too large for her head, and as well as a dark cape. She took the role of a vigilante, patrolling the streets. Her best record for "saving the day" was one, and the thief was drunk anyways. Little to say, she finished that career.

~ Agility

Agility is a tricky attribute for Cardonne. Her years with a sword have certainly paid off, though her larger demeanor is a downside for speed. Her speed rests in her hands, especially when they hold a well-made hilt. Her preference with larger, yet more protective armor also takes a toll on her agility and speed, leaving her as more of a tank than the typical ninja.

~ Archery

Ves is hardly an expert with a bow, nor does she fit the stereotype of an archer. Luckily enough, she knows the bare minimum. For a few months, she had to hunt game in order both earn a few coins, and keep herself healthy, and everyone knows you don't attack a boar from up close with a knife.

~ Hand-to-Hand Combat

Right hook, left jab, uppercut! If Ves was ever without the heavy burden of her armor or didn't have the protection of a blade, her last resort wouldn't doom her to defeat automatically. She can definitely work her way around with her fists within a fight, though if she can actually win a fight with only fists is a totally different question than if she can just survive. Such is owed to her extensive reading in fighting books during a fad she experienced with bar brawling for a few short-lived weeks.

~ Swordsmanship

With the help of hard training for more than two decades, Ves has certainly grasped the concept and art of wielding a blade. As of now, she's training only to perfect the art. Her expertise includes a broad range of edged weapons, though her preference rests with a sturdy shortsword.

Set of leather padded armor.
~ Ves' typical clothing when she's out in public. It consists of padded shoulders and other protective necessities.

Set of steel armor.
~ The armor has been severely dented and the polish it originally had is long gone. It's functional enough to maintain a defense, though Ves is attempting to find a new replacement soon.

Polished shortsword.
~ Unlike her armor, her sword has been taken care of much more carefully. The sword is also newer than the armor, so it has kept a steady durability rating compared to the armor.

Short wooden bow.
~ A small wooden bow crafted from a common oak tree. Ves usually doesn't have this on her. She only takes it from her room when she needs it, unlike her sword and armor.

Miscellaneous
Velvet pouch.
~ A small velvet pouch that is currently holding five hundred and two shillings. The hefty bag is usually in her hand if she's ever out with it, though most of the time, you can depend that the pouch is hidden safely in the house.

Casual dressing clothes.
~ Like any woman, warrior or not, she keeps an assortment of more casual clothing in her dresser for special events.

Small collection of books and tomes.
~ An inquisitive fellow. Ves has a small collection of books in her cabinet besides her bed if she ever has the time to read them.

First off, the effort you put into making the char profile aesthetically pleasing is definitely worthy of a mention. Also, it seems the character isn't overpowered at all which is always awesome. Seems like there's a lot of detail in her appearances description, and I bet there will be the same amount when the bio is done. Even so, I can already tell I'm all for accepting this char.
